Une douzaine de jours dans\u00a0les parcs nationaux et priv\u00e9s, fin mars et d\u00e9but avril 2013, m’ont permis de rencontrer environ 41 esp\u00e8ces de libellules au Costa Rica, la plupart d\u00e9j\u00e0 vus au Panama, \u00e9tat voisin juste au sud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La r\u00e9colte aurait certainement \u00e9t\u00e9 beaucoup plus abondante si cette p\u00e9riode ne correspondait pas \u00e0 la saison s\u00e8che ; en effet, beaucoup de mares, de ruisseaux forestiers, de foss\u00e9s, m\u00eame de lagunes \u00e9taient \u00e0 sec…
Liste<\/a>\u00a0des odonates du Costa Rica\u00a0(1999).

Depuis la publication de cette page en 2013, l’identification est consid\u00e9rablement facilit\u00e9e par la parution de l’excellent Dragonflies and Damselflies of Costa Rica<\/em>, en 2021, par Dennis Paulson et William Haber, publi\u00e9 par Cornell University Press. Ce livre apporte non seulement des d\u00e9tails sur l’identification, les esp\u00e8ces voisines, mais aussi sur l’habitat et le comportement.
Il n’existe pas, \u00e0 ma connaissance (en anglais, en tout cas) de livre \u00e9quivalent sur le Panama ou le Nicaragua, les deux \u00e9tats voisins. Il faut aller jusqu’\u00e0 la Colombie pour trouver plusieurs guides qui peuvent aussi aider. En attendant la sortie de celui sur la Guyane Fran\u00e7aise, qui reprendra des esp\u00e8ces r\u00e9pandues sur toute la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
