Caliphaea thailandica (Calopterygidae) est la seule esp\u00e8ce de Caliphaea pr\u00e9sente dans le parc de Pia Oac ; heureusement sinon je ne sais pas comment j’aurais pu l’identifier, car je n’ai pu trouver aucun document pr\u00e9cis la concernant, je n’ai pas eu acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la description de l’esp\u00e8ce par Asahina 1976.
Nous l’avons observ\u00e9 dans une aire \u00e0 peine plus ouverte, quelques dizaines de m\u00e8tres apr\u00e8s cette for\u00eat de bambous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 heures plus tard, toujours \u00e0 Pia Oac, nous avons pu tr\u00e8s bri\u00e8vement observer un m\u00e2le, dans une trou\u00e9e de lumi\u00e8re de la for\u00eat, juste avant qu’un m\u00e2le Mnais andersoni ne lui tombe dessus pour une tentative d’accouplement\u202f; les sous-bois sont mal \u00e9clair\u00e9s  \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le pauvre m\u00e2le Caliphaea thailandica en a \u00e9t\u00e9 tout remu\u00e9 et je l’ai surpris dans une pose bien peu naturelle :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est la seule photo correcte du m\u00e2le de cette esp\u00e8ce et on peut la comparer avec celle du m\u00e2le Caliphaea confusa<\/a>; \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue, il n’y a aucune diff\u00e9rence ! Faisons confiance \u00e0 notre expert Tom Kompier qui m’a confirm\u00e9 que seul Caliphaea thailandica \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 Pia Oac.

L’esp\u00e8ce est connue, pour l’instant, du nord du Vietnam et de l’est de la Tha\u00eflande.
