Libellula quadrimaculata : accouplement<\/span>
La Libellule \u00e0 quatre taches est une esp\u00e8ce commune au printemps sur les \u00e9tangs, les mares et les foss\u00e9s bien v\u00e9g\u00e9talis\u00e9s de ma r\u00e9gion et cela fait plus de 15 ans que je l’observe et la photographie. Mais c’est la premi\u00e8re fois que j’observe bri\u00e8vement un accouplement.
J’ai pourtant vu des lieux o\u00f9 les m\u00e2les se comptaient par dizaines (sur ce lac je n’en ai vu que 2 ou 3) et se livraient sans cesse \u00e0 des joutes territoriales, mais\u2026 je n’ai entraper\u00e7u qu’une seule fois une femelle pondre dans un champ de Carex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et je pense que c’est exactement ce que faisait cette femelle avant d’\u00eatre captur\u00e9e par un m\u00e2le, car si je n’ai pas vu le couple se former j’ai entendu des bruissements d’ailes dans les touradons de carex, qui ont \u00e9veill\u00e9 mon attention.
J’ai eu le temps de faire 4 photos avec mon 150 mm Macro. Malheureusement le temps \u00e9tait gris (et froid) ce qui enl\u00e8ve beaucoup de charme \u00e0 ces photos, certainement peu communes parce qu’on voit tr\u00e8s peu d’accouplements de L. quadrimaculata sur le Web.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’accouplement a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s bref, 5 ou 10 secondes, essentiellement en vol stationnaire avant que le couple ne se s\u00e9pare et que je ne les perde de vue tous les 2. J’ai cherch\u00e9 la femelle, esp\u00e9rant qu’elle reviendrait pondre l\u00e0 o\u00f9 je l’avais entendue, mais le ciel gris et le vent froid (13\u00b0C) ont d\u00fb la d\u00e9courager.
Libellula depressa<\/a> s’accouple de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on et les observations sont aussi rares ; seule autre membre du genre Libellula, en Europe, Libellula fulva<\/a> se montre beaucoup moins pudiques et les accouplements, beaucoup plus longs et pos\u00e9s, sont facilement observ\u00e9s. \u00c9tonnant.
M\u00eame avec le temps anormalement froid de cette fin du mois d’Ao\u00fbt, le lac de Lamoura vaut le voyage ; l’accouplement a \u00e9t\u00e9 photographi\u00e9 juste au premier plan de ce paysage :<\/p>\n\n\n\n
