Le hasard a fait que je n’avais jamais eu l’occasion de voir de vieilles femelles Lestes sponsa, et que je n’avais vu que tr\u00e8s peu de femelles vraiment matures ; cette lacune a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9par\u00e9e de fa\u00e7on inattendue alors que je cherchais \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir Sympetrum vulgatum.
Comme on le constate ci-dessus, elles se posent les ailes \u00e9cart\u00e9es, comme tout Lestes bien \u00e9duqu\u00e9 doit le faire, mais quand elles sont tranquillis\u00e9es, qu’elles se sentent \u00e0 l’abri (?), elles resserrent les ailes. Les Lestes dryas, qui sont tr\u00e8s proches au moins sur le plan morphologique, se comportent de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D’ailleurs quand on les prend au dortoir, ou qu’ils sont profond\u00e9ment enfonc\u00e9s dans le bas de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation, les ailes sont le plus souvent repli\u00e9es.
Ci-dessous, on note le lobe lat\u00e9ral du pronotum bien visible qui est d\u00e9pourvu de coloration sombre et m\u00e9tallis\u00e9, ce qui constitue un crit\u00e8re pour s\u00e9parer cette esp\u00e8ce de Lestes dryas (ind\u00e9pendamment de la longueur de l’ovipositeur qui est un \u00e9l\u00e9ment d\u00e9licat \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier et dont la validit\u00e9 est \u00e0 nuancer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ci-dessous 2 femelles qui prennent une teinte assez \u00e9tonnante, cuivr\u00e9e ; cela ne semble pourtant pas \u00eatre la r\u00e8gle et je ne sais pas pourquoi certaines sont un peu diff\u00e9rentes. Elles sont \u00e2g\u00e9es<\/em> c’est certain, mais d’autres le sont et ne montrent pas cette coloration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
