One ne peut donc pas, comme pour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/2022\/10\/01\/gynacantha-nourlangie-theischinger-watson-1991\/\">Gynacantha nourlangie<\/a>, par exemple, utiliser la forme de l'aile post\u00e9rieure pour diff\u00e9rencier les sexes.<br><br>Apr\u00e8s avoir fait un crochet par les Heminanax (il s'est aussi appel\u00e9 Anax congener, Aeshna papuensis), comme <em>notre<\/em> <em>ephippiger<\/em>, il a int\u00e9gr\u00e9 \u00e0 son tour les Anax.<br>Cela surprend souvent les amateurs, mais la classification des Odonates est loin d'\u00eatre grav\u00e9e dans le marbre...<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/anax-papuensis-3.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/anax-papuensis-3.webp\" alt=\"Anax papuensis m\u00e2le, Australie (NT), Southern Rockhole Trail (Nitmiluk), 19\/04\/2022\" class=\"wp-image-11510 lazyload\" width=\"507\" height=\"404\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/anax-papuensis-3.webp 1107w, https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/anax-papuensis-3-768x613.webp 768w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 507px) 100vw, 507px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 507px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 507\/404;\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Anax papuensis m\u00e2le, Australie (NT), Southern Rockhole Trail (Nitmiluk), 19\/04\/20<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Par sa coloration jaune ou brune pour le thorax, <em>le Baron Dragonfly <\/em>se diff\u00e9rencie facilement des 2 autres Anax pr\u00e9sents dans la r\u00e9gion dont le thorax est vert avec au moins la partie dorsale du 2\u00b0 segment bleue, voir partiellement celle du 3\u00b0 segment.<br>Il mesure environ 7 cm, il aime les grandes pi\u00e8ces d'eau avec une v\u00e9g\u00e9tation haute sur les rives.<br>Il est commun dans toute l'Australie, mais on le rencontre aussi en Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guin\u00e9e, en Nouvelle-Cal\u00e9donie et l'est de l'Indon\u00e9sie. Cela ne peut \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que si le pr\u00e9dateur bouge d'une fa\u00e7on \u00e0 produire la m\u00eame image sur la r\u00e9tine de sa proie que le ferait un objet fixe de l'environnement. Une question d'angle d'approche, angle qui doit \u00eatre adapt\u00e9 en permanence, en temps r\u00e9el, aux mouvements de la proie, mais comment les odonates parviennent-ils \u00e0 le faire avec une telle finesse, reste \u00e0 explorer.<br><br>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 Ian Endersby, un peu d'\u00e9tymologie :<br>- Anax vient d'un mot grec signifiant <em>roi<\/em>, <em>souverain<\/em> et est attribu\u00e9 au caract\u00e8re dominant que sugg\u00e8rent sa grande taille et son comportement.<br>- <em>papuensis<\/em>, de<em> Papua<\/em> (Papouasie) + <em>ensis<\/em> un suffixe indiquant la place d'origine ou l'habitat. L'auteur rel\u00e8ve que c'est <em>un abus de langage<\/em>, dans un langage plus direct une erreur d'\u00e9tiquette, car l'esp\u00e8ce d\u00e9crite n'avait certainement pas \u00e9t\u00e9 prise en Papouasie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En d\u00e9cembre suivant, nous avons eu la chance de le trouver pos\u00e9 au-dessus d'une large rivi\u00e8re peu profonde dans laquelle nous progressions ;
