Nososticta kalumburu, le Spot-winged threadtail des Australiens, est certainement plus difficile \u00e0 d\u00e9nicher qu’\u00e0 identifier. Il est tr\u00e8s peu rencontr\u00e9 et il faut aller le chercher dans le nord de l’Australie-Occidentale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa tache alaire, m\u00e9diane, est unique \u00e0 cette esp\u00e8ce. Il montre des appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs courts, mais beaucoup plus longs que les inf\u00e9rieurs, \u00e0 peine visibles.
Sur certains sujets matures, on devine une fine bande ante hum\u00e9rale claire, mais elle est souvent masqu\u00e9e par la pruinosit\u00e9 qui envahit le thorax et les deux premiers segments abdominaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa distribution le limite au nord de l’Australie-Occidentale o\u00f9 il habite les ruisseaux et petites rivi\u00e8res, avec souvent des zones d’ombre notables.
Le flash a illumin\u00e9 les ailes brillantes de ce jeune m\u00e2le et lui donne des reflets iris\u00e9s. Noter les yeux qui n’ont pas encore le noir des adultes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les femelles sont beaucoup moins \u00e9videntes \u00e0 identifier, car elles n’ont pas vraiment de caract\u00e8re distinctif, si ce n’est une tr\u00e8s fine bande ante hum\u00e9rale, tellement fine qu’elle dispara\u00eet presque compl\u00e8tement quand les femelles prennent de l’\u00e2ge. Elles partagent la discr\u00e9tion de cette bande avec les femelles N. koopinyah. Ici<\/a><\/strong>, les bandes ante hum\u00e9rales des femelles Nososticta (The Australian Protoneurinae (Odonata) \u00bb. Nososticta est issu de deux mots grecs, le premier, dont on retrouve la racine en fran\u00e7ais dans\u00a0nosocomial<\/em>, par exemple, signifiant\u00a0maladie,<\/em>\u00a0et le second\u00a0sticta<\/em>, signifiant marqu\u00e9, ce qui pour les odonates se rapporte aux pt\u00e9rostigmas. Cette \u00ab\u00a0maladie\u00a0\u00bb est une \u00e9nigme et il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019indication dans la description de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce sur laquelle le nom de genre est bas\u00e9, Nososticta solida.
Kalumburu est tout simplement le nom de la localit\u00e9 dans laquelle a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvert l’holotype<\/a> (1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
