Il est facile de comprendre pourquoi les Australiens ont appel\u00e9 Nososticta solida Orange threadtail ! De ce fait, il ne pose pas de probl\u00e8me d’identification avec sa coloration orange sur le thorax ; une bande ante hum\u00e9rale large (mais moins que celle de N. pilbara que je n’ai pas rencontr\u00e9), et la coloration orange qui s’\u00e9tend sur les 2 premiers segments abdominaux. Les appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs sont courts, cylindriques et pointus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les ailes sont hyalines ou ambr\u00e9es jusqu’au nodus, parfois de fa\u00e7on prononc\u00e9e.
L’abdomen mesure 31 mm, la longueur totale doit atteindre environ 36 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est un odonate commun avec de nombreuses observations. Il est end\u00e9mique d’Australie o\u00f9 il est largement distribu\u00e9 sur toute la c\u00f4te est, du nord au sud, jusqu’au sud de l’\u00e9tat de Victoria.
Il habite les portions semi-ombrag\u00e9es des ruisseaux et rivi\u00e8res.

Les femelles ont le m\u00eame aspect, leur coloration orange est plus terne, mais les ailes sont souvent plus marqu\u00e9es \u00e0 leur base.
Leur face, comme celle des m\u00e2les, est barr\u00e9e d’une forte bande claire. Je n’ai pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 comprendre ce qui se trouve sur le thorax de la femelle ci-dessous \u00e0 gauche ; une mue d’araign\u00e9e ? Il me semble pourtant apercevoir 2 \u0153ufs (?) au fond de cette structure qui semble enroul\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 droite ci-dessus, on remarque la forme tr\u00e8s particuli\u00e8re du pronotum avec un lobe central post\u00e9rieur fortement redress\u00e9, profond\u00e9ment concave en arri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nososticta (1) est issu de 2 mots grecs, le premier, dont on retrouve la racine en fran\u00e7ais dans\u00a0nosocomial<\/em>, par exemple, signifiant\u00a0maladie,<\/em>\u00a0et le second\u00a0sticta<\/em>, signifiant marqu\u00e9, ce qui pour les odonates se rapporte aux pt\u00e9rostigmas. Cette \u00ab\u00a0maladie\u00a0\u00bb est une \u00e9nigme et il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019indication dans la description de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce sur laquelle le nom de genre est bas\u00e9, justement Nososticta solida.
Solida, du latin solidus<\/em> signifie dense, robuste, ferme<\/em> et on en revient encore \u00e0 la description de Selys-Longchamps, E. (1860).\u00a0<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0Nososticta<\/em>, Hagen in: Synopsis des Agrionines, derni\u00e8re l\u00e9gion:\u00a0Protonevra<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0<\/a>.\u00a0Bulletin de la Classe des Science, Acad\u00e9mie Royale de Belgique. 2 .\u00a0<\/em>10<\/strong>: 431\u2013462 [457]<\/em>, document o\u00f9 il reprend les caract\u00e9ristiques de genre et de l’esp\u00e8ce solida<\/em>, d\u00e9crite \u00e0 cette occasion : \u00ab\u00a0Thorax plus robuste que chez les trois autres sous-genres.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
