Macromia katae (Wilson, 1993), Macromiidae, est une addition r\u00e9cente \u00e0 la liste des odonates vietnamiens puisqu’il a fait l’objet d’une publication en 2015 par Natalia von Ellenrieder, Martin Hauser, Stephen D. Gaimari et Thai H. Pham dans Checklist, publication ou ils mentionnaient \u00e9galement la premi\u00e8re mention pour le Vietnam pour Indothemis carnatica. 
Il se diff\u00e9rencie assez facilement de tous les autres Macromia pr\u00e9sents dans le sud de la Chine ou au Vietnam par le fait qu’il associe bandes ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rales nettement visibles ci-dessus et une \u00e9pine sur la face dorsale du 10\u00b0 segment abdominal qu’on aper\u00e7oit mieux sur la photo ci-dessous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son abdomen mesure 55 mm si bien qu’il doit atteindre au moins 70 mm pour une aile post\u00e9rieure de 45 mm.
Il est pr\u00e9sent au sud de la Chine (Guangdong, Ha\u00efnan et Hong Kong), au Laos, pr\u00e8s de la fronti\u00e8re vietnamienne, et au Vietnam, dans des rivi\u00e8res \u00e0 faible pente, au courant mod\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 rapide, en for\u00eat secondaire.
