Cet Anax parthenope m\u00e2le en vol est un bonus appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 \u00e0 sa juste valeur; je suis venu dans les Landes pour revoir les Gomphidae qui sont rares dans ma r\u00e9gion, Gomphus simillimus & graslinii et Stylurus flavipes. Mais pas de chance, malgr\u00e9 une journ\u00e9e et demie de prospection, ils ne se sont pas montr\u00e9s. Est-ce trop t\u00f4t en saison ou est-ce que les 10 jours d’orages qui ont pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 ma venue en sont responsables ? Sans doute un peu les 2.
Olivier Payen, mon guide sur place, s’est alors rabattu sur un petit \u00e9tang, d’environ 70 m sur 25 m, qui semble bien ordinaire : ses bords sont verticaux, pas de plage de sable ou de terre, tr\u00e8s peu de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation aquatique, pas de roseli\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il est cependant bien riche ce petit plan d’eau; nous y avons observ\u00e9 S. sanguineum et meridionale, O. albistylum et cancellatum, T. annulata, E. lindenii, E. cyathigerum et viridulum, I. elegans, S. fusca, C. viridis, Calopteryx sp. et enfin A. imperator et parthenope.
A. imperator semblait d’abord r\u00e9gner seul, mais nous l’avons aper\u00e7u combattre un autre Aeshnidae que nous avons identifi\u00e9 comme Anax parthenope.
D\u00e8s que leurs vols se rapprochaient, l’A. imperator poursuivait l’Anax parthenope pour lui faire quitter les lieux, c’\u00e9tait syst\u00e9matiquement l’Empereur qui attaquait et le bien nomm\u00e9 Lesser emperor<\/em> quittait la place, ce qui est tout \u00e0 fat conforme aux observations des interactions de ces 2 esp\u00e8ces. Finalement, l’Anax napolitain s’est content\u00e9 d’un angle de l’\u00e9tang, embouchure d’un ruisseau, o\u00f9 son adversaire ne s’aventurait pas, et c’est sur cette partie que j’ai pu faire ces photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 plusieurs reprises, nous avons m\u00eame eu droit \u00e0 des affrontements entre 2 Anax parthenope, si bien que je ne suis pas certain d’avoir photographi\u00e9 toujours le m\u00eame, car si je ne montre que 3 photos, il faut bien r\u00e9aliser que j’en ai fait des dizaines…
Il s’est pos\u00e9 \u00e0 2 ou 3 reprises. Cependant, je n’\u00e9tais pas au bon endroit, Olivier lui \u00e9tait justement install\u00e9 devant la seule branche qui \u00e9mergeait de l’eau… bien vu !<\/p>\n\n\n\n
