Austrogomphus divaricatus, Gomphidae, fait partie des 3 esp\u00e8ces du genre que j’ai rencontr\u00e9es. C’est peu, car s’il y a 15 Austrogomphus en Australie, nous \u00e9tions tout de m\u00eame susceptibles d’en rencontrer 7 au Queensland, mais la qu\u00eate des Gomphidae est toujours une aventure incertaine, en Australie ou ailleurs…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On ne trouve \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s rien dans la litt\u00e9rature \u00e0 propos de ce Fork hunter<\/em>. Aucune des publications de Watson que j’ai recherch\u00e9es n’est librement accessible, m\u00eame sur les sites de partage scientifique. L’article dans lequel il est d\u00e9crit est disponible pour AU 60$…
Il se diff\u00e9rencie de A. amphiclitus et prasinus par des appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs noirs et fourchus.
Pour les dessins thoraciques et les appendices anaux, il ressemble \u00e9norm\u00e9ment \u00e0 A. bifurcatus mais ce dernier montre les segments 7 \u00e0 10 \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s compl\u00e8tement noirs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il se pla\u00eet sur les rivi\u00e8res et ruisseaux. Nous l’avons trouv\u00e9 \u00e0 la limite d’une zone bois\u00e9e, une zone de transition entre une aire ouverte et l’endroit o\u00f9 cette petite rivi\u00e8re entre en for\u00eat. Au m\u00eame endroit, nous avons trouv\u00e9 la femelle ci-dessous (les 2 photos sont le m\u00eame sujet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son aire de distribution est extr\u00eamement restreinte, dans la r\u00e9gion c\u00f4ti\u00e8re du Queensland, dans une zone d’environ 100 km au nord et au sud de Cairns.

Austrogomphus (1) est un compos\u00e9 du latin Auster<\/em> signifiant Vent du sud, <\/em>ici sud<\/em>, comme dans austral<\/em> ou\u2026 Australie<\/em> \u2013 et de Gomphus<\/em> qui vient, lui, d\u2019un mot grec qui signifie cheville<\/em> ou boulon<\/em>, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la forme de l\u2019abdomen (de la plupart des esp\u00e8ces), qui ressemble \u00e0 une cheville pour assembler les bateaux<\/em>. Il est ainsi d\u00e9fini un genre de Gomphus australiens.
Divaricatus, du latin –divaricatus<\/em>, qui signifie –fourchu<\/em>. Et bien s\u00fbr, le nom d’esp\u00e8ce se rapporte \u00e0 la forme des appendices anaux.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
