Nososticta koongarra est un Platycnemididae d’\u00e0 peine plus de 30 mm pour un abdomen de 25 mm. Les Australiens le nomment Citrine threadtail, ce qui laisse r\u00eaveur quand on regarde la photo ci-dessus… Il est vraisemblable que ce nom ait \u00e9t\u00e9 donn\u00e9 parce que l’holotype<\/a> est une femelle, ce qui correspond mieux avec la couleur \u00e9voqu\u00e9e, comme on peut le voir plus bas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les ailes sont l\u00e9g\u00e8rement ambr\u00e9es (hyalines pour les femelles), mais c’est surtout le bleu du thorax qui attire l’attention, bleu que l’on retrouve sur le front. On note \u00e9galement les taches paires, claires ou bleu-ciel qui ponctuent chaque segment abdominal.
C’est l’\u00e9tendue de cette coloration bleue sur le thorax qui le distingue de tous les autres Nososticta australiens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il se plait en for\u00eat sur des ruisseaux, mais nous ne l’avons rencontr\u00e9 que sur une seule localisation, 2 jours diff\u00e9rents, dans une chaleur et humidit\u00e9 accablante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son aire de distribution est extr\u00eamement r\u00e9duite, dans le nord-est du Parc National de Kakadu, et 2 ou 3 autres site dans le Territoire du Nord, les derni\u00e8res photos de cette page en ajoute un autre.
Il est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme rare et menac\u00e9.

Les femelles montrent tr\u00e8s peu de bleu (taches paires abdominales) et leurs zones claires ont d\u00fb \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme jaune pour qu’on le nomme Citrine threadtail<\/em>. \u00c0 moins que ce ne soit cette tache jaune sur la face qui lui ait donn\u00e9 ce nom…
Ses pattes sont beaucoup plus claires que celles des m\u00e2les.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Nososticta (1) est issu de 2 mots grecs, le premier, dont on retrouve la racine en fran\u00e7ais dans nosocomial<\/em>, par exemple, signifiant maladie<\/em> et le second sticta<\/em>, signifiant marqu\u00e9, ce qui pour les odonates se rapporte aux pt\u00e9rostigmas. Cette \u00ab maladie \u00bb est une \u00e9nigme et il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019indication dans la description de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce sur laquelle le nom de genre est bas\u00e9, Nososticta solida.
Koongarra est le nom du lieu, au sud de Jabiru, o\u00f9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9lev\u00e9 un paratype<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quelques semaines apr\u00e8s avoir publi\u00e9 cette page, j’ai retrouv\u00e9 cette femelle, class\u00e9e par erreur avec une autre esp\u00e8ce.
Il ne fait pourtant pas de doute que c’est une femelle Citrine Threadtail<\/em> avec sa face orang\u00e9e, le lobe post\u00e9rieur de son pronotum fortement redress\u00e9 et la fine ligne claire colorant la face dorsale du S2. Une nouvelle localit\u00e9 pour l’esp\u00e8ce.
Noter les pt\u00e9rostigmas massifs, plus importants que ceux du m\u00e2le.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
