Nososticta liveringa, Platycnemididae, fait partie de ces Nososticta aux ailes hyalines, parfois l\u00e9g\u00e8rement ambr\u00e9es et au thorax marqu\u00e9 de bleu (ou vert, pour moi, c’est bleu), comme N. coelestina, koolpinyah, koongarra ou mouldsi. On les s\u00e9pare par la largeur, la longueur et la forme de la bande ant\u00e9 hum\u00e9rale bleue, et Watson et Theischinger (2) ont m\u00eame mesur\u00e9 sa surface par rapport \u00e0 celle de l’\u00e9pisterne m\u00e9sothoracique<\/a>. Ils nous disent que pour cette esp\u00e8ce, elle occupe au maximum 85% de sa longueur et 40 \u00e0 50% de sa largeur.
Ceci est illustr\u00e9, toujours dans le m\u00eame ouvrage (noter la ligne noire qui donne l’\u00e9chelle) :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il mesure \u00e0 peine plus de 30 mm en moyenne, son abdomen 25.3 et son aile post\u00e9rieure 14.3 mm.
Je ne sais pas pourquoi, ce matin-l\u00e0, j’ai rat\u00e9 \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s toutes les photos des m\u00e2les Nososticta liveringa, il ne m’en reste que 3, dont celle ci-dessous qui donne un \u00e9l\u00e9ment d’identification suppl\u00e9mentaire sous la forme des 2 petits poins bleus entre les 2 yeux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On constate \u00e9galement la pr\u00e9sence d’une fine ligne claire m\u00e9diane sur la face dorsale de l’abdomen, de S2 \u00e0 S6.
Les appendices anaux sont clairs et il faut remarquer que dans l’ouvrage d\u00e9j\u00e0 cit\u00e9, la cl\u00e9 pour identifier ces Nososticta ne mentionnent pas les appendices anaux ; ils sont en effet extr\u00eamement semblables malgr\u00e9 l’excellente qualit\u00e9 des planches photographiques annex\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pas de bleu pour les femelles qui comme la plupart du temps sont ternes. La bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale est fine, tr\u00e8s fine, certainement plus que sur la planche o\u00f9 elle occupe 29 \u00e0 36% de la largeur<\/em> ; mais ces planches ne peuvent pas repr\u00e9senter toutes les variations individuelles (ces photos ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9es par un expert local).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce Malachite threadtail<\/em> n’est connu qu’en Australie-Occidentale (jusqu’au sud-ouest de la r\u00e9gion de Kimberley) et de l’extr\u00eame ouest du Territoire du Nord.
IUCN Red List<\/a>
C’est une esp\u00e8ce qui vit sur les ruisseaux et rivi\u00e8res mais qui contrairement \u00e0 la plupart des autres Nososticta accepte des aires ouvertes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nososticta (1) est issu de 2 mots grecs, le premier, dont on retrouve la racine en fran\u00e7ais dans\u00a0nosocomial<\/em>, par exemple, signifiant\u00a0maladie,<\/em>\u00a0et le second\u00a0sticta<\/em>, signifiant marqu\u00e9, ce qui pour les odonates se rapporte aux pt\u00e9rostigmas. Cette \u00ab\u00a0maladie\u00a0\u00bb est une \u00e9nigme et il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019indication dans la description de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce sur laquelle le nom de genre est bas\u00e9, Nososticta solida.

Lower Liveringa Pool est le lieu o\u00f9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9lev\u00e9 un paratype<\/a>.
