Euthygomphus koxinga a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit sous le nom de Anisogomphus koxingai par Chao. C’est Oleg Kosterin qui en 2016 a introduit le nouveau genre Euthygomphus pour mettre fin \u00ab\u00a0au d\u00e9sordre\u00a0\u00bb qui r\u00e9gnait dans les genres Merogomphus et Anisogomphus qui regroupaient des Gomphidae poss\u00e9dant des appendices anaux tr\u00e8s divers.
Les Euthygompus concernent maintenant ces Gomphidae asiatiques qui montrent des cerco\u00efdes (cerci en anglais) \u00ab\u00a0simple, parallel or slightly diverging, straight or slightly arched in lateral view and \/ or curved out in dorsal view, without protuberances or processes but small ventrocaudal knobs and \/ or terminal spine;\u00a0\u00bb (Oleg E. Ici, on est clairement dans le cas des appendices simples, divergents avec une \u00e9pine ventrale terminale. Pour ce dernier d\u00e9tail, il faut me faire confiance, car la photo qui me permet de l’affirmer n’est pas publiable\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans ce m\u00eame document, O. kosterin pr\u00e9cise que ce sont de Gomphidae de taille moyenne poss\u00e9dant de longs f\u00e9murs post\u00e9rieurs atteignant S3, garnis d’un faible nombre de fortes \u00e9pines, comme on le voit ci-dessus. Ils montrent \u00e9galement de longs segments terminaux, avec S10 pas plus court que large. E. koxingai mesure environ 46 \u00e0 57 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie
Euthygomphus<\/strong> ; le nom de genre vient du grec latinis\u00e9\u00a0euthys<\/em>, pour simple<\/em>, droit<\/em> (les appendices anaux) et bien s\u00fbr de\u00a0gomphus<\/em>\u00a0cheville, clou, vis ou broche, faisant allusion \u00e0 la forme de l’abdomen du m\u00e2le dans la plupart des esp\u00e8ces, qui appara\u00eet comme un boulon utilis\u00e9 pour la construction navale.
Koxingai<\/strong> est un pirate et g\u00e9n\u00e9ral chinois consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un des p\u00e8res de la nation Ta\u00efwanaise, et Ta\u00efwan est la contr\u00e9e d’o\u00f9 est issu l’holotype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ci-dessus, on se rend bien compte de la taille spectaculaire de son f\u00e9mur post\u00e9rieur.
Le biotope \u00e0 Cao Bang est une rivi\u00e8re<\/a> de moyenne largeur (10 \u00e0 15 m) au fond sableux ou parsem\u00e9 de gravillons, la rive \u00e9tant occup\u00e9 d’arbustes puis de for\u00eat un peu plus loin. Le cort\u00e8ge odonatologique est tr\u00e8s important, en particulier les Gomphus et Chlorogomphus.
On le rencontre dans les provinces du sud de la Chine contigu\u00ebs au Vietnam (Guangxi, Yunnan) mais aussi Hainan, Guangdong et m\u00eame Hong Kong.
