Malheureusement, nous n’avons rencontr\u00e9 Aciagrion fragile que sur un seul site, les marais de Innot Hot Springs, \u00e0 2 reprises, mais \u00e0 chaque fois l’environnement \u00e0 fait qu’il \u00e9tait impossible \u00e0 approcher. Je n’ai r\u00e9ussi que 2 photos, les autres sont bien moyennes…

Aciagrion est un genre \u00e0 large distribution, depuis le sud de l’Afrique jusqu’en l’Australie, \u00e0 travers l’Asie du sud-est et l’Indon\u00e9sie. Il compte une trentaine de membres et je suis surpris de constater que ce n’est que le 2\u00b0 repr\u00e9sentant que je rencontre, apr\u00e8s Aciagrion pallidum<\/a>, il y a des ann\u00e9es au Laos.

Ce sujet ne semble pas repr\u00e9senter la majorit\u00e9 des individus, car il porte une marque noire triangulaire et effil\u00e9e sur le 8\u00b0 segment, alors que certains montrent ce S8 enti\u00e8rement bleu. C’est le m\u00eame sujet ci-dessous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il mesure 27 \u00e0 28 mm, 22 \u00e0 23 pour l’abdomen et environ 14 pour l’aile post\u00e9rieure. Sa tr\u00e8s petite taille explique sans doute pourquoi Tillyard l’avait provisoirement class\u00e9 dans les Ischnura (selon l’avis de Ren\u00e9 Martin), le nommant Ischnura fragilis<\/em>, tout en remarquant des diff\u00e9rences importantes.
Noter que le sujet ci-dessous ne porte pas de marque noire sur le 8\u00b0 segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il se pla\u00eet sur les eaux dormantes, en particulier les marais et la photo ci-dessous montre o\u00f9 nous l’avons contact\u00e9, en compagnie, entre autres, de Xanthagrion erythroneurum<\/a>, tout aussi difficile \u00e0 approcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Blue slim<\/em> est confin\u00e9, en Australie, au nord du Kimberley (Australie-Occidentale), au nord Territoire du Nord, \u00e0 l’extr\u00eame est du Queensland (entre Townsville et Cairns) avec quelques mentions beaucoup plus au sud, autour de Brisbane.
Mais on le rencontre \u00e9galement en Indon\u00e9sie, en Papouasie, et en Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guin\u00e9e.

Il pr\u00e9sente une caract\u00e9ristique suffisamment peu commune pour \u00eatre mentionn\u00e9e ; les pt\u00e9rostigmas de l’aile ant\u00e9rieure sont moins larges que ceux de l’aile post\u00e9rieure, ce que l’on constate sur cet agrandissement :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le genre Aciagrion (1) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Selys (1891) ; il a \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9 par un mot grec signifiant –objet pointu<\/em>, d’ailleurs acus<\/em> en latin signifie aiguille<\/em>, en y ajoutant le d\u00e9j\u00e0 c\u00e9l\u00e8bre agrion<\/em> (du grec agrios<\/em> \u2013 vivant dans les champs, sauvage<\/em>). Selys pr\u00e9cise \u00ab\u00a0abdomen long, excessivement gr\u00eale\u00a0\u00bb, un abdomen donc fin comme une aiguille.


Fragile est \u00e9vident et vient du latin fragilis<\/em>, signifiant fragile<\/em>. Tillyard, dans sa description de l’esp\u00e8ce souligne qu’il diff\u00e8re des autres Ischnura (r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9crits) par \u00ab\u00a0sa petite t\u00eate, son thorax \u00e9troit et ses ailes minces…\u00a0\u00bb.
