Erythromma najas m\u00e2le, pronotum, \u00e9tang de P\u00e9ronne (F-49), 29\/05\/2011<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

En principe, il n’est pas utile de faire des photos du pronotum d’Erythromma najas pour l’identifier ; ses yeux rouges, l’absence de taches postoculaires, sa bande ante hum\u00e9rale incompl\u00e8te, son abdomen noir aux segments 1 et 9 & 10 bleus donnent suffisamment d’indications.
Cependant, et j’y ai \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9 en mai 2023, il est difficile d’identifier les sujets \u00e9mergents, quand E. lindenii est \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sent. Il est alors n\u00e9cessaire d’examiner le pronotum (et le m\u00e9sothorax !) et en particulier la forme de sa marge post\u00e9rieure.
[Noter ci-dessous, \u00e0 l’union du pronotum et du m\u00e9sothorax, de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la ligne m\u00e9diane, les orifices des spiracles (ou stigmates) qui apportent l’air aux organes par un syst\u00e8me de trach\u00e9es.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le pronotum du m\u00e2le de la Na\u00efade aux yeux rouges se distingue par son bord post\u00e9rieur presque rectiligne sur une vue sup\u00e9rieure (globalement convexe sur une vue ant\u00e9rieure…), l\u00e9g\u00e8rement relev\u00e9, comme enroul\u00e9, et un tr\u00e8s petit lobe post\u00e9rieur triangulaire. Il est tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent de celui des femelles<\/a> dont le lobe post\u00e9rieur triangulaire est tr\u00e8s prononc\u00e9.
Celui de Erythromma lindenii<\/a> m\u00e2le est malheureusement tr\u00e8s ressemblant, cependant moins relev\u00e9, avec un plus grand lobe post\u00e9rieur aplati. Mais surtout, juste en arri\u00e8re des stigmates, juste en avant du m\u00e9sothorax, on remarque 2 tub\u00e9rosit\u00e9s lat\u00e9rales (\u00e0 sommet bleu) absente pour E. najas. Ces tub\u00e9rosit\u00e9s sont souvent cit\u00e9es comme crit\u00e8re d’identification pour les femelles, mais elles sont aussi parfois bien utiles pour les jeunes m\u00e2les…
Cette comparaison para\u00eet triviale pour des sujets matures, bien color\u00e9es, tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rents d’une esp\u00e8ce \u00e0 l’autre, mais elle est bien utile pour des individus encore quasiment translucides !<\/p>\n\n\n\n
