Neoneura bilinearis m\u00e2le, Rio Tahuayo, 13\/08\/2023<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Nous n'avons rencontr\u00e9 Neoneura bilinearis (Protoneuridae) que 2 fois, l'une sur le Rio Tahuayo et l'autre sur un bras de l'Amazone, lui au milieu de l'eau et nous sur une pirogue, ce qui explique \u00e0 la fois la qualit\u00e9 des photos et leur faible nombre... Sur place, je l'ai identifi\u00e9 par erreur comme une esp\u00e8ce proche, que j'avais contact\u00e9e en Colombie et au Br\u00e9sil, Neoneura confundens<\/a>.
En fait, c'est historiquement l'inverse, Neoneura confundens \u00e9tant longtemps rest\u00e9 cach\u00e9 et confondu (comme son nom l'indique) avec Neoneura bilinearis, jusqu'en 2013 et la publication de Marcel Wasscher dans Zootaxa 3599 (1): 019\u2013036, \"The true identity of Neoneura bilinearis Selys, 1860, with the synonymy of N. gaida R\u00e1cenis, 1953, and the description of N. confundens sp. nov.(Odonata: Protoneuridae<\/em>\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n

L'identification est beaucoup plus facile quand on voit les sujets l'un \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l'autre ; la diff\u00e9rence la plus \u00e9vidente est la coloration du 8\u00b0 segment abdominal, presque enti\u00e8rement jaune vif pour N. confundens, vert dans la m\u00eame teinte que l'abdomen pour N. bilinearis. On note \u00e9galement pour ce dernier une petite marque noire qui s'\u00e9chappe \u00e0 la partie inf\u00e9rieure et post\u00e9rieure de la large bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale noire.
Il est aussi plus petit que son cousin et mesure entre 29 et 33 mm, 30 \u00e0 36 pour son cousin, mesures que l'on trouve dans l'excellent Tabel voor de libellen van Suriname<\/em>, de Marcel Wasscher et qui est disponible en chargement libre sur le Web !
C'est une esp\u00e8ce rare, essentiellement pr\u00e9sente sur les rivi\u00e8res et les ruisseaux, beaucoup plus rarement sur des milieux lentiques, que l'on ne trouve qu'au nord du Br\u00e9sil, au P\u00e9rou, au Venezuela et au Suriname.
IUCN Red List<\/a> : malheureusement le site n'est pas \u00e0 jour (2009), la distribution relat\u00e9e ne le distingue pas de celle de Neoneura confundens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les femelles montrent un motif thoracique bien diff\u00e9rent, o\u00f9 les lignes noires sont discr\u00e8tes avec une simple ponctuation, de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on que pour sa cousine N. confundens<\/a>.

Neoneura du grec neo<\/em> pour nouveau<\/em> et de la forme latinis\u00e9e du grec neuron<\/em>, signifiant nerf, tendon, veine<\/em>. Selys cr\u00e9\u00e9 ce genre comme un sous-genre de Protoneura et semble trouver la preuve dans la nervation qu'il est plus historiquement plus r\u00e9cent, sans apporter d'explication (ou tout simplement qu'il est tr\u00e8s proche du genre protoneura ?)(1).
Bilinearis compos\u00e9 de bi<\/em>, pour deux<\/em> et de linearis<\/em>, de linea<\/em> signifiant fil, ligne<\/em> et du suffixe aris<\/em>, sans signification particuli\u00e8re (\u00e0 mon sens !). Selys dans son Synopsis des Agrionines, derni\u00e8re l\u00e9gion : Protoneura<\/em> \u00e9crit \"Thorax oliv\u00e2tre, avec deux bandes subm\u00e9dianes \u00e9paisses, rapproch\u00e9es, une hum\u00e9rale double, et une ligne lat\u00e9rale noire<\/em>\" et le nom d'esp\u00e8ce se r\u00e9f\u00e8re vraisemblablement \u00e0 la double bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale. Neoneura confundens montre les m\u00eames lignes thoraciques, mais Selys ne le connaissait pas...<\/p>\n\n\n\n
