Acanthagrion phallicorne, Coenagrionidae, appartient au groupe apicale<\/em> (A. apicale) mais pr\u00e9sente des affinit\u00e9s \u00e9troites avec A. ascendens<\/a>. Il est d’ailleurs photographiquement tr\u00e8s proche d’A. ascendens et il faut l’examen des pi\u00e8ces anales pour les s\u00e9parer.
Ci-dessous (le m\u00eame sujet que la photo ci-dessus, m\u00eame position), on note son 10\u00b0 segment muni de 2 prolongements en \u00ab\u00a0V\u00a0\u00bb qui sont arrondis \u00e0 leur extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 (pointus pour les 2 autres cit\u00e9s). Remarquer les paraproctes (ex-cerques<\/a>) minuscules et \u00e9pineux, orient\u00e9s en dedans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Encore une autre photo de ce sujet, difficile \u00e0 approcher, sur les berges et au-dessus de l’eau d’un petit lac, non loin de la Tahuayo river. Les eaux stagnantes sont le milieu de pr\u00e9dilection du genre, bien que certains tol\u00e8rent des eaux faiblement courantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deux jours plus tard, le temps est magnifique et nous devons changer de base. Sur la rivi\u00e8re qui nous m\u00e8ne vers l’Amazon Research Center, nous accostons et progressons pour une tr\u00e8s courte marche en for\u00eat pour rejoindre un petit lac. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cet arr\u00eat se r\u00e9v\u00e8lera tr\u00e8s fructueux, nous offrant de nombreuses nouvelles esp\u00e8ces et au moins 2 autres A. phallicorne. D’autres Acanthagrion \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents, mais il est difficile d’affirmer leur esp\u00e8ce avec certitude ; il faut \u00e0 chaque fois capturer, ce que nous n’avons pas fait, ou faire des photos suffisamment pr\u00e9cises, pour chaque individu. Je ne l’ai fait que pour les sujets que je montre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leonard nous dit que l’abdomen mesure 24.5 mm, ce qui donne une taille totale de 30 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acanthagrion phallicorne est une esp\u00e8ce rarement observ\u00e9e ; elle est contact\u00e9e au Br\u00e9sil, ou l’holotype a \u00e9t\u00e9 captur\u00e9, en \u00c9quateur et bien s\u00fbr au P\u00e9rou. Les 13 observations sur Inaturalist proviennent du P\u00e9rou, et uniquement de la Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve, c’est-\u00e0-dire, la zone que nous prospections.

Ci-dessous \u00e0 gauche une femelle ; d\u00e9terminer l’esp\u00e8ce \u00e0 laquelle appartient une femelle semble actuellement mission impossible. Mais ici, j’ai eu la chance de l’observer en tandem avec le jeune m\u00e2le plac\u00e9 \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d’elle.
Souvent pour les Coenagrionidae, les m\u00e2les immatures sont de la m\u00eame couleur que les femelles, ce qui se v\u00e9rifie ici, car on note encore la pr\u00e9sence de vert sur ce jeune m\u00e2le pourtant mature sexuellement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acanthagrion<\/strong> (Selys), du grec akanthos<\/em>, \u00e9pine<\/em>, et agrion<\/em>, d\u00e9riv\u00e9 du Grec signifiant sauvage et veut sans doute dire \u00ab vivant dans les champs \u00bb. Acanthagrion se r\u00e9f\u00e8re \u00e0 une \u00e9pine ac\u00e9r\u00e9e sous le S8 des femelles ; Selys dans le \u00ab Synopsis des Agrionines, l\u00e9gion 5 <\/em> \u00bb \u00e9crit \u00ab \u00c9pine vulvaire g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement aigu\u00eb \u00bb. Il pr\u00e9cise \u00e9galement que cette caract\u00e9ristique est commune au 8 sous-genres qu\u2019il cr\u00e9e sous le genre Agrion.
Phallicorne<\/strong> (1), du grec ancien phallos<\/em>, puis du latin phallus<\/em>, membre viril en \u00e9rection<\/em> et sans doute du latin cornua<\/em> pour corne<\/em> (d’un animal). Si Leonard n’\u00e9crit pas explicitement pourquoi il a choisi ce nom, on lit dans sa description :\u00a0\u00bbdorsum of 10 produced into two posteriorly directed horns, closely resembling those found in apicale and obsoletum, but somewhat shorter and more bluntly tipped<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0. Ce sont donc vraisemblablement les \u00ab\u00a0cornes\u00a0\u00bb du 10\u00b0 segment avec leur extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 arrondie qui lui valent ce nom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai finalement trouv\u00e9 bien d’autres photos de cet Acanthagrion, rang\u00e9es dans la mauvaise case… D’abord des jeunes, encore bleus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
