Aeolagrion dorsale est un \u00e9l\u00e9gant Coenagrionidae, bien typique, d\u00e9crit \u00e0 l’origine comme Agrion dorsale par Burmeister en 1839 ; il s’est aussi appel\u00e9 Hylaeagrion argenteolineatum avec F\u00f6rtser en 1906 avant d’\u00eatre synonymis\u00e9 par Garrisson et al. en 2003. et ainsi retrouver le genre cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Williamson en 1917.
Dans \u00ab\u00a0Aeolagrion philipi sp. nov. from Bolivia, and a review of the genus Aeolagrion (Odonata: Coenagrionidae)\u00a0\u00bb (1), on lit qu’il mesure entre 32 et 37.5 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La cl\u00e9 qui figure dans le document d\u00e9j\u00e0 cit\u00e9 (1) fait appel aux appendices anaux<\/a> pour s\u00e9parer les quatre Aeolagrion actuellement connus. Je ne ferai pas voir les photos que j’ai faites des profils de ces appendices anaux, elles sont trop \u00e9loign\u00e9es, et m\u00eame si elles confirment l’identification, on peut, dans la zone o\u00f9 nous \u00e9tions, diff\u00e9rencier les deux esp\u00e8ces que nous avons rencontr\u00e9es par un petit d\u00e9tail de la coloration sur la face lat\u00e9rale de leur thorax. La bande thoracique bleue sur l’\u00e9pim\u00e8re m\u00e9sothoracique<\/a> semble s’\u00e9chapper en arri\u00e8re pour rejoindre la bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale bleu, mais il vaut mieux une photo explicative : <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son biotope se situe en for\u00eat primaire, dans des flaques de lumi\u00e8re, perch\u00e9 sur la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation, pr\u00e8s d’un ruisseau ou d’une petite rivi\u00e8re. Ici, mes compagnons sont post\u00e9s sur LE ponton de la r\u00e9serve, tentant de le photographier.
N’ayant pas une focale longue, je m’y suis allong\u00e9 sur pour m’approcher de la cible ; il n’y a aucun courage \u00e0 le faire, c’est un des seuls endroits du coin o\u00f9 on peut le faire sans se mouiller ! Si tout est humide, le soleil parvient parfois \u00e0 s\u00e9cher ces planches qui r\u00e9sistent longtemps au pourrissement.

Les flaques de lumi\u00e8res en for\u00eat tropicale sont souvent un paradis pour les amateurs d’entomologie, et celle-ci n’a pas failli, avec notamment un magnifique h\u00e9t\u00e9ropt\u00e8re et un accouplement de Mantidae ! Que je montrerai plus tard dans les pages ad hoc…

Les femelles sont spectaculaires et montrent une coloration vraiment lumineuse sur le thorax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aeolagrion<\/strong> : si Agrion ne pose pas de probl\u00e8me, agrion<\/em>, du grec agrios<\/em> \u2013 vivant dans les champs, sauvage<\/em>, je suppose que la premi\u00e8re partie du nom de genre nous vient de Aeolus, le dieu grec du vent. Mais je ne sais pas pourquoi Williamson a introduit cette r\u00e9f\u00e9rence, rien n’y fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence dans sa description.
Dorsale<\/strong> se r\u00e9f\u00e8re peut-\u00eatre au lobe post\u00e9rieur du pronotum, tr\u00e8s redress\u00e9 des m\u00e2les : \u00ab\u00a0Hind lobe laterally winged, the
