C’est avec une certaine r\u00e9serve que je pr\u00e9sente cette femelle Calvertagrion albatum ; nous n’avons pas rencontr\u00e9 le m\u00e2le, elle ne m’a laiss\u00e9 le temps que d’une dizaine de photos, toutes sous le m\u00eame angle et aucune n’est plus pr\u00e9cise que celle que je montre. Il est impossible de v\u00e9rifier la forme du lobe post\u00e9rieur du pronotum.
Elle est d\u00e9crite par Kenneth J. Tennessen, dans \u00ab\u00a0Four new species of Calvertagrion St. Quentin from South America (Odonata:
Coenagrionidae<\/a>)<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0, Odonatologica 44(3) 2015: 397-430.

Dans ce document, il d\u00e9crit \u00e9galement la femelle \u00ab\u00a0Pterothorax mostly medium brown with orange cast, no pruinosity apparent…\u00a0\u00bb (Pt\u00e9rothorax principalement brun moyen avec une dominante orange, sans pruinosit\u00e9 apparente…). Notre sujet est plut\u00f4t noir sur le thorax couvert de pruinosit\u00e9 blanche… Mais Tennessen a sans doute d\u00e9crit un jeune sujet. De plus, la coloration bleue et noire des derniers segments correspond beaucoup mieux \u00e0 celle du m\u00e2le C. declivatum, ce qui, je le conc\u00e8de, ne prouve rien.

En conclusion, tant qu’on ne peut pas voir le pronotum, rien ne prouve que ce soit Calvertagrion albatum…
Cependant, l’identification a \u00e9t\u00e9 valid\u00e9e par Tim Faasen qui conna\u00eet bien cette zone et ce serait le seul Calvertagrion connu de cette r\u00e9serve.

J’ajoute ci-dessous une photo quasi identique, mais celle-ci permet de voir les pt\u00e9rostigmas marron clair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est une esp\u00e8ce minuscule, d’une longueur totale de 24.5 mm, la femelle 23.4 mm, une des plus petites du nouveau monde.
Cette taille n’aide pas \u00e0 sa d\u00e9tection et elle est tr\u00e8s rarement rencontr\u00e9e, surtout dans son habitat forestier, sombre et difficile \u00e0 parcourir, sans doute \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de mares et marais.
Elle est, pour l’instant, end\u00e9mique du P\u00e9rou, et L’IUCN<\/a> ne mentionne qu’un seul site, au sud du P\u00e9rou. Bien loin de la r\u00e9gion d’Iquitos o\u00f9 nous avons prospect\u00e9.

Calvertagrion<\/strong> est compos\u00e9 du nom propre Calvert<\/em>, un hommage \u00e0 Philip Calvert<\/em>, entomologiste am\u00e9ricain consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences de l’odonatalogie et de Agrion<\/em>, du grec Agrios<\/em>, –vivant dans les champs<\/em> et si souvent utilis\u00e9 pour cr\u00e9er des genres parmi les Coenagrionidae.
Albatum<\/strong> est explicit\u00e9 par Tennessen : \u00ab\u00a0Derived from the Latin adjective albus meaning \u201cclothed in white\u201d for the
thick, white pruinosity on the thorax<\/em>.\u00a0\u00bb (D\u00e9riv\u00e9 de l’adjectif latin –albus<\/em>, signifiant –habill\u00e9 en blanc<\/em>, pour l’\u00e9paisse pruinosit\u00e9 blanche sur le thorax).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
