Cet Heliogomphus bidentatus n’\u00e9tait encore pas d\u00e9crit officiellement (prochainement dans Zootaxa m’a dit Tom Kompier le 11 janvier 2019) quand nous l’avons rencontr\u00e9 bri\u00e8vement \u00e0 Khau Pha, en remontant un sentier acrobatique le long d’un torrent (altitude 617 m) et \u00e0 Pia Oac o\u00f9 il a \u00e9t\u00e9 captur\u00e9.
Les appendices anaux sont nettement diff\u00e9rents de ceux H. scorpio, les cerques (appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs) montrent deux dents inf\u00e9rieures (qui lui donnent son nom d’esp\u00e8ce, bien s\u00fbr). Ceux de H. scorpio montrent \u00e9galement une forte expansion lat\u00e9rale<\/a>, beaucoup plus faible ici.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le pattern abdominal appara\u00eet tout \u00e0 fait identique… sauf la marque claire sur la base du 7\u00b0 segment qui est quadrilat\u00e8re pour H. scorpio<\/a> et dont les bords sont ici arrondis.
Enfin, les bandes hum\u00e9rales thoraciques sont l\u00e9g\u00e8rement diff\u00e9rentes : grossi\u00e8rement rectangulaires pour H. bidentatus, elles sont plus larges et plus convexes dans leur partie ant\u00e9rieure pour H. scorpio<\/a>.
Il mesure environ 60 mm, 42.5 mm pour l’aile post\u00e9rieure (1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ici, le sujet captur\u00e9 \u00e0 Pia Oac, au long d’un chemin forestier bord\u00e9 par un ruisseau dans un profond foss\u00e9 (altitude 1330 m), toujours avec la marque arrondie sur le S7.
C’est une esp\u00e8ce des r\u00e9gions montagneuses, o\u00f9 il fr\u00e9quente les ruisseaux sous le couvert forestier ou des aires un peu plus ouvertes. Il partage cet habitat avec H. scorpio et on peut les trouver c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’esp\u00e8ce \u00e9tant r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9couverte, sa distribution est sujette \u00e0 caution, mais il n’est connu de fa\u00e7on certaine que du nord et du centre du Vietnam.
