En fonction des sources et des individus, bien s\u00fbr, Neoneura rubriventris, Protoneuridae, mesure entre 34 et 36.5 mm.
Je l’avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 rencontr\u00e9 en Colombie, assez bri\u00e8vement. Au Perou, nous l’avons rencontr\u00e9 plusieurs fois, mais une seule dans des conditions satisfaisantes, sur l’\u00e9missaire d’un grand \u00e9tang appel\u00e9 Cocha Trabix. Les autres fois, il \u00e9tait en vol, et nous… en pirogue sur la Tahuayo River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est un genre qui contient actuellement 29 esp\u00e8ces ; j’en ai rencontr\u00e9 sept en Am\u00e9rique Centrale et en Am\u00e9rique du Sud ; on pourra les retrouver \u00e0 partir de cette liste<\/a>. Celui-ci n’est sans doute pas un des plus difficiles \u00e0 identifier avec son abdomen enti\u00e8rement rouge et son thorax marron agr\u00e9ment\u00e9 de petits traits noirs bien sp\u00e9cifiques de fa\u00e7on et d’intensit\u00e9 variable, comme le montrent les dessins de Williamson (1) ci-dessous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous ne l’avons donc rencontr\u00e9 que sur des eaux courantes, m\u00eame si celle de la Tahuayo river l’\u00e9tait tr\u00e8s faiblement, voire \u00e0 peine, en raison du tr\u00e8s bas niveau des eaux \u00e0 cette saison.
Sur cette derni\u00e8re rivi\u00e8re, depuis notre pirogue, nous avons eu le plaisir d’apercevoir un tandem, ce qui permet de savoir \u00e0 quoi ressemble les femelles qui sont rarement vues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est une esp\u00e8ce assez r\u00e9pandue puisqu’on la rencontre en Bolivie, au P\u00e9rou, en Colombie, en \u00c9quateur, au Venezuela et au Br\u00e9sil et au Guyana.

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><\/span>
Neoneura<\/strong> du grec\u00a0neo<\/em>\u00a0pour\u00a0nouveau<\/em>\u00a0et de la forme latinis\u00e9e du grec\u00a0neuron<\/em>, signifiant\u00a0nerf, tendon, veine<\/em>. Selys cr\u00e9\u00e9 ce genre comme un sous-genre de Protoneura et semble trouver la preuve dans la nervation, qu\u2019il est plus historiquement plus r\u00e9cent, sans apporter d\u2019explication (ou tout simplement qu\u2019il est tr\u00e8s proche du genre protoneura ?)(2).
Rubriventris<\/strong>, du latin ruber,<\/em> pour –rouge<\/em> et du latin venter<\/em> pour – ventre<\/em> ou abdomen,<\/em> ce qui est facile \u00e0 comprendre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
