Hetaerina sanguinea est d\u00e9crit par Selys dans son Synopsis des Calopt\u00e9rygines<\/em> dans lequel il nous dit que son abdomen mesure 35 mm, soit environ 44 mm pour l’insecte entier.

Nous l’avons trouv\u00e9 sur un ruisseau, en zone assez ouverte, \u00e0 quelques dizaines de m\u00e8tres du lodge et de la rivi\u00e8re Tahuayo, en compagnie de Ischnura fluviatilis, et de nombreux Erythrodipax attenuata. C’est sa localisation qui permet son identification, car je n’ai pas de vue des appendices anaux ; elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 confirm\u00e9e par Tim Faasen sur Inaturalist pour une photo prise au m\u00eame endroit par un de mes compagnons ; je suppose donc qu’aucun autre Hetaerina n’a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 vu sur cet endroit tout pr\u00e8s de lodge et souvent visit\u00e9.

Ici, c’est un sujet tr\u00e8s largement mature, les plus jeunes sont plus faciles \u00e0 identifier, car ils portent des taches vert m\u00e9tallique en arri\u00e8re du thorax, comme on peut le constater sur ces sujets<\/a> vus en Colombie voisine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est une esp\u00e8ce largement r\u00e9pandue au nord-est de l’Am\u00e9rique du Sud, du sud du Venezuela \u00e0 la Bolivie.

\u00c9tymologie
<\/span>Hetaerina<\/strong> (2) est un genre cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Hagen, du grec \u2013 \u1f11\u03c4\u03b1\u03af\u03c1\u03b1 =\u00a0compagnon, courtisane<\/em>\u00a0et du suffixe \u2013 \u03b9\u03bd\u03cc\u03c2 \u2013\u03ae \u2013\u03cc\u03bd =\u00a0se rapportant \u00e0\u2026, comme<\/em>. Hagen n\u2019explique pas ce choix, mais il est clairement en rapport avec la f\u00e9minit\u00e9, comme fr\u00e9quemment pour les zygopt\u00e8res, comme puella<\/em>\u00a0ou\u00a0virgo<\/em>.
Sanguinea<\/strong>, du latin sanguineus,<\/em> pour –qui a un rapport au sang, couleur de sang, <\/em>certainement en rapport avec la couleur de l’insecte, mais Selys ne mentionne jamais explicitement cette couleur et cet odonate ne me semble pas plus rouge-sang qu’un autre, H. sanguinolenta par exemple…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
