J’ai \u00e9t\u00e9 vraiment content de revoir le magnifique Ceriagrion azureum que je n’avais pu observer que tr\u00e8s bri\u00e8vement et de trop loin au Vietnam<\/a>. Il m’avait alors stup\u00e9fait, car je ne m’attendais pas \u00e0 trouver un Ceriagrion bleu ; ils sont le plus souvent rouges (C. praetermissum<\/a>) ou orange (C. glabrum<\/a>), jaune (C. fallax<\/a>), multicolores (C. cerinorubellum<\/a>), mais je n’en avais jamais rencontr\u00e9 de bleu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons rencontr\u00e9 le premier sujet sur une petite mare tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante, pr\u00e8s des chutes de Hua Sai Lueang (alt. 1065 m). Un seul individu nous narguait en ne s’approchant pas du bord ou en s’\u00e9chappant aussit\u00f4t.
Puis plusieurs sujets sur une petite prairie semi-inond\u00e9e, entre la rivi\u00e8re Klang et le restaurant de birders de Mr. Deang, dans le parc Do Inthanon (alt. 1000 m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ils ont des yeux assez fantastiques !

Selys (1) a d\u00e9crit l’esp\u00e8ce depuis un sujet pris en Birmanie<\/em> (Myanmar) sous le nom de Pseudagrion azureum. Il est long, ce serait le plus grand des Ceriagrion avec un abdomen de 36 mm et une longueur total d’environ 44 mm. Son aspect est peu commun, sa veination est tr\u00e8s proche des Pseudagrion et une cr\u00eate frontale indistincte (typique des Ceriagrion) laisse penser qu’il pourrait \u00eatre un lien entre les deux genres.
Encore une fois, on est confront\u00e9 au probl\u00e8me des descriptions sur des sujets en collection, sujets dont les couleurs sont mal conserv\u00e9es. Selys \u00e9crit : \u00ab\u00a0Prothorax gris-brun. Lobe post\u00e9rieur arrondi, obscur, bord\u00e9 de bleu\u00e2tre clair. Thorax noir\u00e2tre en avant avec une bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale oliv\u00e2tre clair, plus large inf\u00e9rieurement (le centre \u00e9galement oliv\u00e2tre chez l\u2019exemplaire de Toungoo). Les c\u00f4t\u00e9s gris bleu\u00e2tres avec une bande noir\u00e2tre occupant l’espace entre les deux premi\u00e8res sutures, et une raie terminale peu marqu\u00e9e.\u00a0\u00bb Alors qu’on constate qu’in-vivo le thorax est tout bleu, \u00e0 peine marqu\u00e9 de sutures sombres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son nom anglais est Azure Marsh Dart.
La distribution de Ceriagrion azureum s\u2019\u00e9tend de l\u2019Inde au Vietnam et au sud de la Chine, population souvent dispers\u00e9e, rarement en nombre, souvent au-dessus de 1000 m au bord des mares et \u00e9tangs ensoleill\u00e9s.

Dans\u00a0Ceriagrion<\/strong>, on retrouve le classique\u00a0Agrion<\/em>\u00a0cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Fabricius (1775) pour d\u00e9signer tous les Zygopt\u00e8res et qui vient d\u2019un mot grec signifiant\u00a0sauvage<\/em>, sans doute pour indiquer, d\u2019apr\u00e8s Fliedner (2006), qu\u2019on trouve ces insectes dans les champs et non dans un environnement domestique.
La premi\u00e8re partie du nom de genre vient d\u2019un mot latin,\u00a0Cerinus<\/em>, signifiant\u00a0couleur cire<\/em>, en rapport, selon Ian Endersby & Heinrich Fliedner (2) avec la coloration jaun\u00e2tre ou verd\u00e2tre. Personnellement, je pense qu\u2019il s\u2019agit, plut\u00f4t que d\u2019une question de couleur, d\u2019une notion de texture ; pour moi, c\u2019est r\u00e9ellement l\u2019aspect cireux (de la coloration) du thorax qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 retenu pour d\u00e9signer le genre.
Azureum<\/strong>, du latin azureus qui signifie d’un bleu profond. Selys \u00e9crit : \u00ab\u00a0Le m\u00e2le est facile \u00e0 distinguer des autres Pseudagrion de m\u00eame taille \u00e0 son abdomen d\u2019un bleu azur\u00e9 clair et luisant (plus terne chez la femelle).\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
