J'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 particuli\u00e8rement content de retrouver ces Coeliccia chromothorax m\u00e2les (Platycnemididae) que j'avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 admir\u00e9s quelques ann\u00e9es auparavant au Laos<\/a> et au Vietnam<\/a> ; les contrastes entre le noir de sa t\u00eate et ses yeux verts, le noir de sa bande thoracique et son thorax jaune lumineux sont splendides. S'y ajoute la petite touche de jaune \u00e0 la fin de l'abdomen qui est noir \u00e9galement sur sa face sup\u00e9rieure.
Ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments suffisent \u00e0 l'identification de ces m\u00e2les matures tr\u00e8s \u00e9l\u00e9gants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur ces photos, on note deux constantes des Coeliccia, un genre tr\u00e8s riche qui compte actuellement 80 esp\u00e8ces en Asie : les longues et rares \u00e9pines sur les pattes ainsi que les petites taches postoculaires cun\u00e9iformes plac\u00e9es tr\u00e8s en arri\u00e8re de la t\u00eate.
Selys, qui a d\u00e9crit l'esp\u00e8ce (1) sous le nom de Calicnemis chromothorax \u00e0 partie d'un exemplaire de Birmanie<\/em> (Myanmar) indique que l'abdomen du m\u00e2le mesure 39 \u00e0 40 mm, il atteint donc une longueur totale d'environ 47 mm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On pourrait tout de m\u00eame confondre Coeliccia chromothorax m\u00e2le avec les m\u00e2les Coeliccia poungyi immatures<\/span> (<\/span>nous les avons rencontr\u00e9s sur un m\u00eame site)<\/span>, mais ceux-ci, tr\u00e8s similaires pour le thorax lumineux montrent plus de jaune sur l'abdomen, colorant enti\u00e8rement le neuvi\u00e8me segment et d\u00e9bordant l\u00e9g\u00e8rement sur le huiti\u00e8me.
Nous les avons observ\u00e9s essentiellement sur deux sites, tous les deux assez ouverts, en limite de for\u00eat, l'un le long d'une rivi\u00e8re, l'autre pr\u00e8s d'une mare \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 1200 m d'altitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si je connaissais donc d\u00e9j\u00e0 l'esp\u00e8ce, je n'avais jamais vu de femelles et nous avons eu la chance d'observer plusieurs tandems et tentatives d'accouplement ; et c'est toujours une excellente occasion d'examiner les femelles, qui isol\u00e9es, sont parfois tr\u00e8s difficiles \u00e0 identifier.
Ci-dessous, la femelle n'est jamais parvenue \u00e0 positionner correctement son abdomen contre celui du m\u00e2le et la gymnastique \u00e9tait assez comique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C'est aussi l'occasion de constater la technique de capture du m\u00e2le qui utilise ses appendices anaux afin de crocheter la femelle par son pronotum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La distribution de l'esp\u00e8ce s'\u00e9tend du Myanmar au sud de la Chine (Yunnan) \u00e0 travers le Laos, la Tha\u00eflande et le Vietnam.

Selys a d\u00e9crit la premi\u00e8re esp\u00e8ce du genre en 1863 sous le nom pr\u00e9occup\u00e9 de Trichocnemis (col\u00e9opt\u00e8re longicorne) et c\u2019est Kirby qui a rectifi\u00e9 et cr\u00e9\u00e9 le genre\u00a0Coeliccia<\/strong>\u00a0en 1890. Ce nom de genre, inexpliqu\u00e9 par l\u2019auteur \u00e0 ma connaissance, vient peut-\u00eatre du latin\u00a0coelum\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>\u00a0(ou\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0caelum\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>), qui signifie ciel<\/em>\u00a0ou c\u00e9leste<\/em>, et d\u2019un suffixe ou simple terminaison choisie pour l\u2019esth\u00e9tique ou la phon\u00e9tique. En effet, la premi\u00e8re esp\u00e8ce d\u00e9crite par Selys, Trichocnemis membranipes, est\u00a0bleu-ciel<\/em>, pour toutes ses parties non noires.
Chromothorax<\/strong>, du grec ancien chroma<\/em> qui signifie couleur<\/em> et thorax<\/em> qu'il n'est pas besoin d'expliciter. Selys a choisi pour cette esp\u00e8ce d'insister sur la couleur jaune de chrome<\/em>, comme il le mentionne dans sa description : \"Thorax jaune de chrome brillant ... La moiti\u00e9 terminale du 9\u00b0 en dessus et le 10\u00b0 en entier sont jaune de chrome ... Appendices anals jaune de chrome.<\/em>\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
