Drepanosticta anascephala est un Platystictidae dont le genre compte 130 esp\u00e8ces ! Ce n’est que le 4\u00b0 que je rencontre. Il est bien s\u00fbr difficile de les identifier et si Fraser (1) a d\u00e9crit cette esp\u00e8ce en 1933, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crite \u00e0 nouveau par Asahina (2) sous le nom de D. doisuthepensis en 1984, puis synonymis\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le point commun de ces Drepanosticta est certainement d’aimer l’ombre dense de la for\u00eat (les Platystictidae sont appel\u00e9s Shadow damsels) et les eaux lentes qui y serpentent, les r\u00e9surgences et les suintements et les marais. Ils sont tr\u00e8s difficiles \u00e0 rep\u00e9rer et faciles \u00e0 perdre s’ils d\u00e9collent (pour se reposer cependant tr\u00e8s pr\u00e8s). On ne devine en vol que les points clairs de l’abdomen et surtout le spot bleu terminal. Il reste donc s\u00fbrement de nombreuses esp\u00e8ces \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir…

En Tha\u00eflande, au moins deux autres esp\u00e8ces sont observ\u00e9es ; D. fontinalis<\/a> et D. jurzitzai. Ils se diff\u00e9rencient par la quantit\u00e9 de bleu sur les derniers segments et bien s\u00fbr les appendices anaux.

\u00c0 cet endroit o\u00f9 Michael et Phil observent l’esp\u00e8ce, dans un sous-bois (Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai, 30\/05\/2024), les pieds dans un ruisseau pr\u00e8s d’une petite chute, nous sommes \u00e0 une altitude d’environ 1180 m (18.805889, 98.908528).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

La forme du bord ant\u00e9rieur des ailes est int\u00e9ressante, brutalement courb\u00e9e au niveau du pt\u00e9rostigma quadrangulaire et presque carr\u00e9. Noter \u00e9galement la tache jaune sous le huiti\u00e8me segment, orn\u00e9e d’une touffe de soies rousses (voir aussi plus bas).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les appendices anaux sont complexes comme on le devine sur la photo du centre et expliquent d’ailleurs le nom d’esp\u00e8ce, m\u00eame si ma photo ne permet pas de voir le d\u00e9tail amusant que l’on rapportera plus bas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon Fraser, l’abdomen mesure 43 mm ; la longueur totale est d’approximativement 51 mm, l’aile post\u00e9rieure atteint 27 m.
Si l’holotype<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit depuis un sp\u00e9cimen captur\u00e9 au nord du Laos, il est surtout pr\u00e9sent en Tha\u00eflande o\u00f9 il atteint le sud et laisse pr\u00e9sager sa pr\u00e9sence au nord de la Malaisie. Il pourrait, de plus, \u00eatre rencontr\u00e9 au Myanmar et au Yunnan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drepanosticta<\/strong> : du grec drepanon<\/em>, pour faucille, serpe<\/em> et de stiktos<\/em> qui signifie tatou\u00e9, marqu\u00e9 ou tachet\u00e9<\/em>. C’est certainement la forme particuli\u00e8re du bord de l’aile qui vaut \u00e0 ce genre cette d\u00e9nomination en \u00ab\u00a0faucille\u00a0\u00bb bien qu’il ne soit pas fait mention de ce caract\u00e8re dans la description du genre par Laidlaw (3) en 1917.
Quant \u00e0 la mention de \u00ab\u00a0tach\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb (sticta) elle n’est l\u00e0 que pour souligner son appartenance \u00e0 la famille des Platystictidae dont le nom d\u00e9rive des Platysticta, un genre d’Asie du Sud dont l’extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 des ailes porte une tache sombre (4).
Anascephala<\/strong>, du latin anas<\/em> pour canard<\/em> et du grec k\u00e9phal\u1ebf<\/em> pour t\u00eate<\/em>, refl\u00e8te la forme en t\u00eate de canard<\/em> qui se r\u00e9v\u00e8le sur les appendices anaux inf\u00e9rieurs (paraproctes) quand on les observe de c\u00f4t\u00e9.
Fraser \u00e9crit :\u00a0\u00bbInferiors very intricate, of the same length as superiors, very broad at base, ending in an irregular process shaped like the inverted head of a duck with its bill gaping widely, the similarity being heightened by a small raised black process which marks the eye of the duck\u00a0\u00bb-\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0Inf\u00e9rieurs tr\u00e8s compliqu\u00e9s, de m\u00eame longueur que les sup\u00e9rieurs, tr\u00e8s larges \u00e0 la base, se terminant par un processus irr\u00e9gulier en forme de t\u00eate invers\u00e9e d’un canard avec son bec largement ouvert, la ressemblance \u00e9tant renforc\u00e9e par un petit processus noir en relief qui marque l’\u0153il du canard.\u00a0\u00bb [le dessin original a \u00e9t\u00e9 tourn\u00e9 pour mieux faire voir la t\u00eate de canard<\/em>.]<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
