Ce n’est qu’en d\u00e9cembre 2023 que j’ai appris par hasard que cette esp\u00e8ce que nous avions appel\u00e9e Brechmorhoga cf. tepeaca a \u00e9t\u00e9 formellement d\u00e9crite comme Brechmorhoga goncalvensis en juin 2021.
Ce tr\u00e8s beau Brechmorhoga avait encore un nom d’emprunt, car il n’\u00e9tait pas encore officiellement d\u00e9crit. Il est tr\u00e8s proche de l’esp\u00e8ce centram\u00e9ricaine B. tepeaca<\/em> mais en diff\u00e8re par ses doubles lignes (ou lignes-points) claires tr\u00e8s \u00e9videntes sur chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l’abdomen. Son nom est donc le r\u00e9sultat d’une erreur d’identification et on doit s’y r\u00e9f\u00e9rer, signale Tom Kompier, comme B. tepeaca sensu Santos<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous l’avons rencontr\u00e9 \u00e0 plusieurs reprises, \u00e0 Campestre Salinas et au pied de Tres Picos. Ce dernier sujet parcourait obstin\u00e9ment un petit torrent encombr\u00e9 de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation pour revenir toujours se poser sur ce rameau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa distribution est limit\u00e9e au sud-est du Br\u00e9sil.
Diogo Silva Vilela m’a tr\u00e8s gentiment fourni la description originale<\/a> parue dans Odonatologica, en juin 2021.
On y lit que le m\u00e2le mesure 49.3 mm et l’abdomen 35.2 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/span>
Brechmorhoga (Kirby, 1894) (1) du grec \u03b2\u03c1\u03ad\u03c7\u03bc\u03b1, brechma<\/em>, qui signifie sommet ou partie ant\u00e9rieure de la t\u00eate,<\/em> et de \u1fe5\u03c9\u03b3\u03ae, r\u00f4g\u00e9 ou rogu\u00e9<\/em>, qui signifie fente, fissure<\/em>, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au tubercule frontal bifide, caract\u00e9ristique du genre. On peut le voir par exemple sur ce B. vivax<\/a> du Panama.
Goncalvensis se rapporte \u00e0 la localit\u00e9 o\u00f9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9lev\u00e9 l’holotype, Gon\u00e7alves, dans l’\u00c9tat du Minas Gerais au Br\u00e9sil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
