Rencontrer un nouveau Gomphidae est toujours un moment magique et Leptogomphus gestroi n’est que le quatri\u00e8me d’un genre qui en compte 25, que j’ai le plaisir de photographier.
Tous ceux que j’ai contact\u00e9s se ressemblent ; des motifs thoraciques riches avec des traits jaunes m\u00e9dians non jointifs avec le \u00ab\u00a0collier\u00a0\u00bb et un abdomen fin et assez sombre, dilat\u00e9 pour les segments \u00e0 partir du sixi\u00e8me : L. perforatus<\/a>, L. divaricatus<\/a> et L. sp <\/a>(ou sp. nov.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On ne conna\u00eet (actuellement) que trois Leptogomphus en Tha\u00eflande, l’un est limit\u00e9 au sud de la Tha\u00eflande pr\u00e8s de la Malaisie, L. risi, l’autre L. inclitus n’a \u00e9t\u00e9 vu qu’une seule fois et je n’en ai pas trouv\u00e9 de photo ou de dessin (si ce n’est des ailes d’une femelle (1)).
Il n’existe pas de synopsis de ce genre, mais \u00e0 tout hasard, j’ai fait des photos des appendices anaux qui sont, me semble-t-il, assez particuliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’abdomen mesure environ 41 mm, la longueur totale atteint 54 mm.
Il se pla\u00eet en moyenne montagne, ici \u00e0 1450 m, et vit sur les rivi\u00e8res et ruisseaux en for\u00eat.
On le rencontre au nord et \u00e0 l’ouest de la Tha\u00eflande, au nord du Vietnam et au Yunnan. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit \u00e0 partir d’un sujet captur\u00e9 en Malaisie par Leonardo Fea, explorateur, zoologiste et artiste italien, en 1885.

\u00c9tymologie<\/span><\/strong>
Leptogomphus<\/strong>, du grec leptos<\/em>, pour mince, fin, l\u00e9ger<\/em>, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la finesse de l’abdomen, et de gomphus<\/em>, qui vient, aussi, d\u2019un mot grec qui signifie\u00a0cheville<\/em>\u00a0ou\u00a0boulon<\/em>, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la forme de l\u2019abdomen (de la plupart des esp\u00e8ces), qui ressemble \u00e0 une\u00a0cheville pour assembler les bateaux<\/em>.
Gestroi<\/strong> est un hommage au Docteur Gestro qui a adress\u00e9 plusieurs collections d’odonates \u00e0 Selys (2): \u00ab\u00a0D\u00e9di\u00e9e au savant Docteur Gestro, conservateur du Mus\u00e9e Civique de G\u00e8nes.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
