Comme tous les membres de son genre, les Protosticta trilobata m\u00e2le et femelle (Platystictidae) se posent quasi verticalement, pendant \u00e0 un rameau ou \u00e0 une feuille.
M\u00eame s’il n’est plus consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme rare, depuis que plusieurs esp\u00e8ces lui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 adjointes par synonymie (1), il n’est pas facile \u00e0 distinguer dans les sous-bois o\u00f9 le flash est indispensable, le genre en anglais prend d’ailleurs le nom justifi\u00e9 de Shadowdamsel<\/em>.
L’IUCN Red List<\/a> qui n’est pas \u00e0 jour, le laisse cantonn\u00e9 dans une toute petite zone du Laos. Mais on doit donc lui ajouter l’aire de distribution de P. curiosa, qui est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un \u00ab\u00a0junior synonym\u00a0\u00bb, celui-ci ayant de plus d\u00e9ja re\u00e7u d’autres esp\u00e8ces synonymis\u00e9e avec lui (P. zhengi & P. albifrons (2)). Et l’aire de distribution de P. khaosoidaoensis, ainsi que celle de 2 autres P. sp. !
C’est donc un genre tr\u00e8s difficile, et l’identification se fait sur les appendices anaux, complexes, fragiles (parfois abim\u00e9s), l\u00e9g\u00e8rement variables (comme souvent) et parfois tr\u00e8s proches. Le genre compte actuellement 58 esp\u00e8ces (3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S’il est difficile \u00e0 voir, c’est que son abdomen est excessivement fin : il mesure au total 46 mm avec un abdomen de 40 mm et des ailes \u00e9tonnamment courtes, de 18 mm.

Nous l’avons observ\u00e9 en for\u00eat, pr\u00e8s d’une chute d’eau de laquelle s’\u00e9chappait un ruisseau g\u00e9n\u00e9rant une zone d’eau plus calme.<\/p>\n<\/div>

On le rencontre donc en Tha\u00eflande assez largement, au Myanmar, au Laos, au Vietnam<\/a> (ou je l’avais contact\u00e9, sans le savoir, en 2018) et dans le sud de la Chine.

Toujours au m\u00eame endroit, j’ai trouv\u00e9 une femelle, avec un abdomen plus \u00e9pais, et un m\u00e2le \u00e9mergent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><\/span>
Protosticta <\/strong>(Selys, 1885), du grec protos<\/em>, premier<\/em> et de sticta<\/em>, forme latinis\u00e9e du grec stiktos<\/em>, pour tatou\u00e9, marqu\u00e9<\/em>, bien qu’il ne faille certainement pas y chercher un sens particulier se rapportant \u00e0 une ou des marques sp\u00e9cifiques, mais plut\u00f4t l’appartenance \u00e0 un famille d’insectes d’apparence voisine : Platysticta, Drepanosticta, Isosticta, Ceylonosticta, Sinosticta, Sulcosticta, Telosticta, Yunnanosticta, tous membres des Platystictidae. Selys dans \u00ab\u00a0Programme d\u2019une revision des Agrionines<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb (4) dans lequel il cr\u00e9e ce nouveau genre, pr\u00e9cise qu’il est tr\u00e8s proche, mais sans doute ant\u00e9rieur (premier<\/em> dans l’\u00e9volution) aux Platysticta, car on note \u00ab\u00a0l’absence de rudiment du secteur inf\u00e9rieur du triangle<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0. Il est \u00e9vident que \u00ab\u00a0sticta\u00a0\u00bb s’est s\u00fbrement rapport\u00e9, \u00e0 l’origine, \u00e0 un d\u00e9tail de coloration particulier, pour un de ces genres, mais j’ignore lequel…
Trilobata<\/strong>, du latin tri<\/em>, pour trois<\/em> et du latin moderne lobata<\/em> signifiant lob\u00e9<\/em> pour insister sur le fait que l’extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 des cerques est trilob\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
