Il est 18 heures 30 et la nuit est tomb\u00e9e dans le parc de Cuc Phuong, au sud d’Hano\u00ef, lorsque Tom parvient \u00e0 capturer ce magnifique m\u00e2le Heliaeschna uninervulata. Il mesure 68 mm et 55 pour son abdomen, peut-on lire dans \u00ab\u00a0Aeschnines. In: Collections zoologiques du Baron Edmond de S\u00e9lys-Longchamps, 1909\u00a0\u00bb.
On note sur ce profil que son \u0153il gauche semble tach\u00e9\u202f; j’ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu ce genre de tache sur les yeux des odonates, mais je ne sais pas \u00e0 quoi elles correspondent, mais comme on le verra, son \u0153il droit est intact. On remarque \u00e9galement la forte touffe de soie port\u00e9e par la face dorsale de son premier segment abdominal.

Les appendices anaux sont vraiment particuliers\u202f; une courte lame supraanale, et 2 longs cerco\u00efdes pointus en forme d’ouvre-bo\u00eetes (d’autrefois !) :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ses yeux sont magnifiques et montrent sous cet \u00e9clairage de nombreuses pseudo-pupilles :<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heliaeschna uninervulata est un exemple de ces Aeshnidae tardif, qu’on ne trouve qu’en soir\u00e9e\u202f; c’est sans doute pour cette raison qu’ils sont parfois perturb\u00e9s par les lumi\u00e8res artificielles, et dans la grande salle o\u00f9 nous avons pris notre repas ce soir-l\u00e0, un autre m\u00e2le d\u00e9sorient\u00e9 tentait de retrouver l’air libre, parmi des centaines d’insectes qui nous ont int\u00e9ress\u00e9 :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin a d\u00e9crit l’holotype<\/a> \u00e0 partir d’un sujet de Born\u00e9o et cette esp\u00e8ce est connue depuis les Philippines, l’Indon\u00e9sie, le Sabah et Sarawak de Malaisie ainsi que Singapour, la Tha\u00eflande, le Myanmar et le Vietnam.

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong>
Heliaeschna<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(Selys, 1882) combine le grec \u1f15\u03bb\u03b9\u03be ,\u00a0helix<\/em>\u00a0pour\u00a0vrille, enroulement<\/em>\u00a0et le genre\u00a0Aeshna<\/em>, selon Fliedner (2020), qui reprend le texte de Selys : \u00ab\u00a0Le 10\u1d49 segment prolong\u00e9 en dessous en une plaque fourchue procombante, \u00e0 branches fines, longues, aigu\u00ebs, \u00e9cart\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb.
M\u00eame si cette interpr\u00e9tation peut sembler incertaine, c\u2019est certainement la meilleure ; on peut \u00e9carter\u00a0helios<\/em>,\u00a0le soleil<\/em>, pour ces esp\u00e8ces dont Selys pouvait imaginer la tendance cr\u00e9pusculaire par leurs tr\u00e8s grands yeux, comme nos Aeschnidae europ\u00e9ens.\u00a0Helos<\/em>\u00a0qui signifie\u00a0marais<\/em>\u00a0en grec, est plus s\u00e9duisant, mais d\u2019une part, je doute que Selys ait connu l\u2019habitat r\u00e9el et pr\u00e9cis de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce qu\u2019il d\u00e9crivait, ensuite le passage de\u00a0helo<\/em>\u00a0\u00e0\u00a0heli<\/em>\u00a0suppose une gymnastique euphonique sans doute exag\u00e9r\u00e9e.
Uninervulata<\/strong> des termes latins uni<\/em> pour un<\/em>, nervulus<\/em> pour nervure<\/em> et du suffixe -atus<\/em> signifiant dot\u00e9 de<\/em> pour souligner qu’il ne montrerait, comme l’\u00e9crit Martin (1909), qu’une seule nervure dans le champ m\u00e9dian. Mais d’une part, il nous signale que ce n’est vrai que pour 3 ailes sur 4 (la 4\u1d49 en poss\u00e9dant 2), et d’autre part, il mentionne la m\u00eame singularit\u00e9 plus loin en parlant de l’espace sous-m\u00e9dian\u2026
Pour le sp\u00e9cimen ci-dessus, on ne peut observer correctement que les ailes droites qui montrent deux nervures pour l’aile sup\u00e9rieure et une seule pour l’inf\u00e9rieure. Je pense que Martin voulait simplement, par ce d\u00e9tail, la diff\u00e9rencier des autres esp\u00e8ces du m\u00eame genre qui montrent plus (ou beaucoup plus) de nervures dans cet espace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
