Il n’y a qu’un seul Hemicordulia en Tha\u00eflande, Hemicordulia tenera, mais deux sous-esp\u00e8ces ; Hemicordulia tenera tenera et Hemicordulia tenera donnellyi. Celui que nous avons observ\u00e9 deux jours de suite appartiendrait \u00e0 la seconde.
Les sous-esp\u00e8ces se diff\u00e9rencient par la longueur des cerques ; dans Kosterin, Karube, Futahashi<\/em>, 2015 (1), on lit qu’il n’y a pas de diff\u00e9rence g\u00e9n\u00e9tique claire, mais que la diff\u00e9rence d’importance des cerques est compatible avec ce que Dijkstra consid\u00e8re comme suffisant, pour d\u00e9finir une esp\u00e8ce, pour les Hemicordulia africains…
En r\u00e9sum\u00e9, des diff\u00e9rences suffisamment importantes pour cr\u00e9er de nouvelles esp\u00e8ces, ce qu’on ne fait pas, car il n’y a pas de diff\u00e9rence g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et on se contente de cr\u00e9er des sous-esp\u00e8ces : je me permets de ne rien y comprendre et de douter encore une fois de la validit\u00e9 de la notion de sous-esp\u00e8ce. Je ne suis ni g\u00e9n\u00e9ticien, ni taxinomiste, et je pensais na\u00efvement que s’il n’y avait pas de diff\u00e9rence g\u00e9n\u00e9tique, on avait affaire \u00e0 la m\u00eame esp\u00e8ce.

Je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re donc en rester \u00e0 H. tenera, d’autant plus facile \u00e0 identifier en Tha\u00eflande qu’il n’y a pas d’autre Corduliidae.
Mais, la confusion est certainement possible avec Zygonyx iris<\/a>, (Libellulidae) qui ne montre pas ces taches jaunes lat\u00e9rales sur l’abdomen et, au contraire, une bande jaune sur sa face dorsale. La forme de l’abdomen est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rente, tr\u00e8s dilat\u00e9e pour notre Corduliidae, ce qui est mis en \u00e9vidence sur une photo<\/a> \u00e0 peine montrable<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les auteurs du document d\u00e9j\u00e0 cit\u00e9 d\u00e9crivent une troisi\u00e8me sous-esp\u00e8ce, du Cambodge, Hemicordulia tenera vikhrevi ; mais ils affirment qu’il n’y a pas [non plus ! ] de diff\u00e9rence de taille entre les 3 sous-esp\u00e8ces ; Hemicordulia tenera mesure environ 45-46 mm.

Nous avons observ\u00e9 ces sujets sur les bords d’un \u00e9tang<\/a> (compl\u00e8tement \u00e0 gauche), \u00e0 quelques dizaines de centim\u00e8tres au-dessus de l’eau ou dans les herbes, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 un Anax nigrofasciatus<\/a> cherchait une femelle. Ces m\u00e2les Hemicordulia tenera, qui ne se sont jamais pos\u00e9s pendant les deux sessions o\u00f9 nous les avons observ\u00e9s, \u00e9taient s\u00fbrement \u00e0 la recherche de femelles en ponte dans les herbes. Et sur ces 2 jours, leur qu\u00eate a \u00e9t\u00e9 fructueuse :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’incidence de la lumi\u00e8re, pourtant peu diff\u00e9rente entre les deux photos ci-dessus, change enti\u00e8rement la couleur de l’\u0153il de la femelle. Remarquer \u00e9galement la pilosit\u00e9 du thorax et de l’arri\u00e8re de la t\u00eate, une caract\u00e9ristique des Corduliidae.
Noter aussi, surtout sur la photo de gauche, la fa\u00e7on amusante dont les pattes moyennes et post\u00e9rieures de la femelle sont verrouill\u00e9es en se croisant sur l’abdomen du m\u00e2le, une prise vraiment s\u00e9rieuse !

Chaque sous-esp\u00e8ce aurait sa propre aire de distribution, Hemicordulia tenera donnellyi ne se rencontrerait que dans le nord de la Tha\u00eflande. Si on se r\u00e9f\u00e8re \u00e0 l’IUCN on rencontre Hemicordulia tenera en Tha\u00eflande, peut-\u00eatre au Myanmar, \u00e0 Singapour et sur toute la Malaisie et partout \u00e0 Born\u00e9o.
Tom Kompier l’a captur\u00e9 au Vietnam<\/a>, Oleg Kosterin au Cambodge (1), il est donc vraisemblablement pr\u00e9sent aussi au Laos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/span><\/strong>
Hemicordulia<\/strong> (2), du grec \u2013hemi<\/em>\u00a0qui signifie \u2013moiti\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0et de\u00a0Cordulia<\/em>\u00a0qui vient du mot grec\u00a0\u2013kordyle<\/em>\u00a0signifiant\u00a0massue\u00a0<\/em>ou\u00a0gourdin<\/em>\u00a0par allusion \u00e0 la forme de l\u2019abdomen du m\u00e2le. Mais, il faut prendre pas prendre -hemi dans son sens litt\u00e9ral, il est l\u00e0 pour indiquer la parent\u00e9 \u00e9troite avec le genre Cordulia dont il se distingue par des d\u00e9tails de nervation.
Tenera<\/strong>, du latin\u00a0tener<\/em>, pour\u00a0d\u00e9licat<\/em>,\u00a0tendre<\/em>. Lieftinck (3) \u00e9crit : \u00ab\u00a0Small, slender species, with weak integument\u00a0\u00bb soit \u00ab\u00a0Esp\u00e8ce petite, \u00e9lanc\u00e9e, \u00e0 t\u00e9gument faible\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour Donnellyi<\/strong>, on lit toujours dans le document d\u00e9j\u00e0 cit\u00e9 (1) : \u00ab\u00a0La sous-esp\u00e8ce est nomm\u00e9e en l’honneur du professeur \u00e9m\u00e9rite Thomas W. Donnelly, g\u00e9ologue am\u00e9ricain et odonatologiste exceptionnel, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier \u00e0 collecter et \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre la nouvelle sous-esp\u00e8ce<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
