Nous avons rencontr\u00e9 cette magnifique et tr\u00e8s jeune Idionyx thailandicus (1) femelle cach\u00e9e dans un arbre sur les rives de la rivi\u00e8re Klang. J’avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 rencontr\u00e9 une femelle plus \u00e2g\u00e9e a<\/a>u Vietnam<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle ressemble \u00e0 notre Oxygastra curtisii par la ligne jaune qui court le long de son abdomen. Mais elle a des ressemblances plus locales, comme Zygonyx iris, ici une femelle en ponte<\/a> au Vietnam, ou d’autres Idionyx, et en particulier Idionyx yolanda.
Les deux sexes de cette esp\u00e8ce pr\u00e9sentent un d\u00e9tail de coloration assez rare (m\u00eame s’il est partag\u00e9 avec d’autres genres, Macromia notamment) ; la large bande jaune lat\u00e9rale thoracique ne s’interrompt pas au-dessus et au contraire passe<\/em> entre les deux paires d’ailes, ce qu’on voit mieux sur la photo en gros plan ci-dessous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La femelle que j’avais rencontr\u00e9e au Vietnam, plus \u00e2g\u00e9e, montrait une tache fortement ambr\u00e9e \u00e0 la base des ailes ; elle \u00e9tait alors d\u00e9crite sous le sexe f\u00e9minin, I. thailandica<\/em>. Je ne sais pas pourquoi elle a chang\u00e9 de sexe pour s’appeler maintenant thailandicus<\/em>.
En tout cas, sa classification est toujours incertaine, elle a quitt\u00e9 les Corduliidae pour errer dans les Incertae sedis…
L’esp\u00e8ce fr\u00e9quente les rivi\u00e8res en for\u00eat et les femelles pondent dans les parties calmes (pools !).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son aire de distribution comprend une bonne partie de la Tha\u00eflande. L’esp\u00e8ce est \u00e9galement connue au Laos, au Cambodge (Kosterin,  2013), et au Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><\/span>
Le genre Idionyx<\/strong> a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Selys (2) en 1871 dans son Synopsis des Cordulines. Dans cette description, il signale \u00e0 plusieurs reprises que les \u00ab\u00a0onglets sont \u00e0 division \u00e9gale<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0, ces onglets \u00e9tant les griffes terminales des tarses (voir ci-contre). Onyx <\/em>signifie ongle<\/em> en grec. J’ai moins de certitude pour le pr\u00e9fixe idi<\/em>, qui signifie petit<\/em> (ce qui ferait petit ongle = onglet) ou idio<\/em> qui signifie particulier<\/em> (pour un ongle particulier) ; les deux possibilit\u00e9s semblent cr\u00e9dibles.
Thailandicus<\/strong> est une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence plus transparente \u00e0 l’origine de l’holotype<\/a>, le Khao Yai National Park, \u00e0 une centaine de kilom\u00e8tres au nord-est de Bangkok, capitale de la Tha\u00eflande.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
