C’est avec surprise que j’ai d\u00e9couvert, \u00e0 mon retour, qu’au moins deux de mes compagnons avaient observ\u00e9 Amphiallagma parvum sur le m\u00eame site, mais des sujets vivants. Il est vrai, qu’heureusement, nous ne nous d\u00e9pla\u00e7ons pas en groupe, mais le plus souvent, quand l’un d’entre nous trouve une nouveaut\u00e9, il appelle les autres. \u00c0 la m\u00eame heure exactement, j’\u00e9tais en train d’observer le \u00ab\u00a0banal<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb Orthetrum luzonicum, mais c’\u00e9tait la premi\u00e8re fois que j’avais l’occasion de photographier un accouplement et je comprends pourquoi je n’ai pas r\u00e9agi \u00e0 un \u00e9ventuel appel.

Je l’avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 rencontr\u00e9 au Rajasthan<\/a> (Inde), tr\u00e8s bri\u00e8vement, dans de mauvaises conditions, mais le sujet \u00e9tait vivant.
Pourquoi ai-je r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 faire d’aussi mauvaises photos d’un sujet immobile est une autre \u00e9nigme (beaucoup de photos sur lesquelles le flash ne s’est pas d\u00e9clench\u00e9 (batterie morte), avec une exposition biais\u00e9e \u00e0 -3 ! ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heureusement, m\u00eame avec ces photos, il n’est pas possible de le (la) confondre avec un autre Coenagrionidae en Tha\u00eflande.
On retrouve bien s\u00fbr les caract\u00e9ristiques communes des \u00ab\u00a0…allagma<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb ; l’absence de noire sur la suture interpleurale<\/a> et, pour les femelles, une \u00e9pine vulvaire sp\u00e9cifique, \u00e0 limite du S8 et S9.
Et m\u00e2les comme femelles ont un abdomen de 17 mm, soit une longueur totale d’environ 21 mm, ce qui en fait un tr\u00e8s petit Coenagrionidae.
Selys (je n’ai pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 trouver la description originale…) l’a d\u00e9crit en 1876 ou 1877 selon les auteurs, comme Enallagma parvum, et c’est Kennedy, 1920 (1) qui a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le genre pour cette esp\u00e8ce. Il est d’ailleurs rest\u00e9 seul dans son genre. Mais il a fallu attendre M. May (2) en 2002, pour que ce changement de genre soit largement accept\u00e9, sur la base de diff\u00e9rence dans la structure p\u00e9nienne.

\"Amphiallagma<\/a><\/figure>
\n

Une caract\u00e9ristique de ces Amphiallagma parvum est une bande interoculaire, \u00e9largie en goutte ou en poire \u00e0 chaque extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 ; elle n’est qu’\u00e0 peine visible ici, en bleu un peu plus clair.
Si nous l’avons trouv\u00e9 dans les herbes d’une mare<\/a>, \u00e0 environ 1500 m d’altitude, il appr\u00e9cie \u00e9galement les rives enherb\u00e9es des lacs et les prairies humides.
Il se d\u00e9place d’un vol saccad\u00e9, se posant dans les herbes et parfois sur le sol (3).
Sa distribution s’\u00e9tend du Sri Lanka et de l’Inde au N\u00e9pal, Myanmar et Tha\u00eflande et vraisemblablement au Bangladesh.

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><\/span>
Amphiallagma<\/strong> ; Kennedy a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le genre en le s\u00e9parant des Enallagma, et on retrouve, en rappel, allagma<\/em> \u00e0 la fin de ce nouveau genre. Il explique (1) : \u00ab\u00a0Characters as in Amphiagrion…\u00a0\u00bb (\u00ab\u00a0Caract\u00e9ristiques comme Amphiagrion…\u00a0\u00bb), et il reprend la premi\u00e8re partie du nom de cet autre genre pour en indiquer la proximit\u00e9.
Le genre Amphiagrion (4) avait \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Selys pour l’esp\u00e8ce Amphiagrion amphion (depuis synonymis\u00e9e avec Ischnura verticalis), en utilisant pour Amphion une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence mythologique (un h\u00e9ros de Th\u00e8bes) et comme pour plusieurs autres odonates, il reprend une partie du nom d’esp\u00e8ce pour fabriquer le nouveau nom de genre, en y ajoutant le tr\u00e8s utile \u00ab\u00a0agrion\u00a0\u00bb (du grec agrios<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0vivant dans les champs, sauvage<\/em>) !
Enallagma (Charpentier, 1840), \u00e9tant form\u00e9 du grec enallax<\/em> \u2013\u00a0altern\u00e9, se succ\u00e9dant<\/em>\u00a0et\u00a0agma<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 fragment<\/em> qui pourrait \u00e9voquer l\u2019alternance de marques bleues et noires du thorax, il aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 plus logique, pour moi qui ne suis pas linguiste, que Kennedy nomme son nouveau genre Amphiagma<\/em>.
Parvum<\/strong>, du latin parvus<\/em> qui signifie petit<\/em>, rappelle la tr\u00e8s petite taille de cet insecte. Ses noms anglais insistent \u00e9galement sur sa petite taille, comme Azur dartlet en Inde ou Little blue en Inde et en Tha\u00eflande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
