J&rsquo;imagine sa surprise, d&rsquo;autant que plusieurs individus \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sents. Il avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 prospect\u00e9 ce site plusieurs fois, la derni\u00e8re en 1971 sans rencontrer cette esp\u00e8ce.<br>Il est vraisemblable que son introduction r\u00e9sulte d&rsquo;une intervention humaine, peut-\u00eatre des \u0153ufs ou des larves dans des plantes destin\u00e9es \u00e0 des aquariums ou \u00e0 des bassins. (Antillean skimmer) mais ceux-ci ne montrent pas cette ligne noire continue sur la car\u00e8ne abdominale dorsale. On les rencontre sur les mares, les \u00e9tangs, les lacs avec suffisamment de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation \u00e9mergente pour qu&rsquo;ils se postent et d\u00e9fendent leur territoire aussit\u00f4t qu&rsquo;un intrus y p\u00e9n\u00e8tre. Il acc\u00e8de les habitats d\u00e9grad\u00e9s ou construits par l&rsquo;homme comme les foss\u00e9s, les drains et les r\u00e9servoirs.<br><br>Ci-dessous une femelle ; sur les profils, on voit facilement la lame vulvaire saillante, caract\u00e9ristique du genre. Et donc, depuis le milieu des ann\u00e9es 70, Cuba, la Jama\u00efque, Porto Rico, les iles Hawa\u00efennes et la Floride.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iucnredlist.org\/species\/163607\/80679957#geographic-range\">IUCN Red List<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><\/span><br \/><strong>Crocothemis<\/strong> (Brauer, 1868), du grec\u00a0<em>crokos<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 qui a donn\u00e9\u00a0<em>crocus<\/em>\u00a0en latin \u2013\u00a0<em>safran\u00e9<\/em>\u00a0en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la couleur de la base de l\u2019aile et de Themis \u2013 d\u00e9esse grecque de l\u2019ordre, de la justice. Hagen en 1861 a cr\u00e9\u00e9 plusieurs noms de genres termin\u00e9s par le suffixe Themis, sans doute parce que d\u2019autres noms de libellules comportaient des noms de dieux comme Echo ou Nehalennia. Le nom de la d\u00e9esse de l\u2019ordre est particuli\u00e8rement bien adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 la taxonomie, science qui vise \u00e0 d\u00e9crire et ordonner les familles, genres et esp\u00e8ces.<br \/><strong>Servilia<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Servilia<\/em>\u00a0(Caepionis) est une des ma\u00eetresses de C\u00e9sar et la m\u00e8re de Brutus.
