Malheureusement pour lui, ce Mortonagrion indraneil, Coenagrionidae, fait partie des premi\u00e8res photos de ce s\u00e9jour de prospection ; \u00e0 chaque fois, je m’aper\u00e7ois que les premiers shoots ne sont pas bons… Il faut quelques heures pour s’habituer \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re, ou plut\u00f4t \u00e0 l’ombre qui entoure ces odonates qui se placent pourtant souvent dans une trou\u00e9e de lumi\u00e8re. D’autant que quelques minutes plus tard, nous avons d\u00fb nous r\u00e9fugier sous une gloriette<\/a>, subissant une des premi\u00e8res fortes pluies du s\u00e9jour, qui en comptera de nombreuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous l’avons rencontr\u00e9 dans un parc, dans une partie de for\u00eat inond\u00e9e ; ce sont des habitu\u00e9s des tourbi\u00e8res, et nous rencontrerons plus tard une femelle immature et un m\u00e2le dans cet environnement bien sp\u00e9cial.
Rory Dow (1) nous dit que son abdomen mesure 21.3 mm, soit une longueur totale d’environ 26 mm, ce qui en fait un tr\u00e8s petit Coenagrionidae.
D’ailleurs, son statut, comme celui d’autres Mortonagrion reste incertain, et certains ont navigu\u00e9 entre les Agriocnemis et les Argiocnemis, la seule diff\u00e9rence notable (hors appendices anaux) repose sur un d\u00e9tail de nervation. Aucun des caract\u00e8res qui d\u00e9finissent les Mortonagrion n’est unique \u00e0 ce genremais ils ont tous des taches postoculaires complexes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quatre autres Mortonagrion sont d\u00e9crits \u00e0 Born\u00e9o (16 dans le monde, un en Afrique (!), un en Nouvelle-Guin\u00e9e, les autres en Asie), mais aucun ne pr\u00e9sente exactement ce motif thoracique.
L’un d’entre eux a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit en 2015, dans un type d’habitat jusqu’alors inexplor\u00e9 ; il est fort probable que l’on d\u00e9couvre d’autres esp\u00e8ces d’odonates dans ces milieux que l’on pensait ne pas convenir aux libellules…<\/p>\n<\/div>

Les femelles portent pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment les m\u00eames motifs thoraciques, elles n’ont cependant pas de tache postoculaire ni de coloration bleue sur S8 et S9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il est end\u00e9mique de Born\u00e9o, limit\u00e9 au Sarawak et \u00e0 Brunei, consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme vraisemblablement disparu de l’extr\u00eame ouest du Kalimantan. IUCN Red List<\/a>.
Enfin deux magnifiques femelles immatures rencontr\u00e9es lorsque nous avons progress\u00e9 en bateau dans la tourbi\u00e8re de Maludam N.P<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><\/span>
Mortonagrion<\/strong> (Fraser, 1920) (3) ; Fraser a rendu hommage \u00e0 Kennth J. Morton, un entomologiste \u00e9cossais qui a montr\u00e9 un int\u00e9r\u00eat particulier pour les n\u00e9vropt\u00e8res et les odonates.
Indraneil<\/strong> ; Rory Dow (1) explique qu’il rend hommage au professeur Indraneil Das, qui a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9, pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 G.T. Reels et \u00e0 l’auteur, la for\u00eat mar\u00e9cageuse de l’UNIMAS (University of Malaysia and Sarawak) o\u00f9 l’holotype a \u00e9t\u00e9 collect\u00e9. Le professeur Indraneil Das est un herp\u00e9tologiste anglo-malaisien qui travaille \u00e0 l’Institute of Biodiversity and Environmental Conservation<\/em>\u00a0de\u00a0l’Universiti Malaysia Sarawak<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
