Telosticta santubong est un des quatre Telosticta que nous avons rencontr\u00e9s au Sarawak, il en existe (au moins) dix autres !
C’est un genre qui comprend 17 membres, tous end\u00e9miques de Born\u00e9o et de Palawan.

Ils ont tous un thorax et un abdomen sombres agr\u00e9ment\u00e9s d’une bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale color\u00e9 plus ou moins longue et d’un ou deux derniers segments color\u00e9s. On peut les identifier gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0Heureusement\u00a0\u00bb, on n’en conna\u00eet que six \u00e0 l’ouest du Sarawak, dans la r\u00e9gion que nous avons prospect\u00e9e. Et trois seulement d\u00e9corent leur thorax d’une tr\u00e8s courte bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale bleue ; notre Telosticta santubong, T. serapi et T. dupophila. Cependant, T. santubong est le seul (de ces individus \u00e0 tr\u00e8s courte tache ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale) dont lacoloration bleue est limit\u00e9e au neuvi\u00e8me segment.

La forme de cette marque sur S9 est sans doute variable, car les sujets (2 !) que nous avons observ\u00e9s portaient un curieux motif au lieu d’une tache compl\u00e8te. D’ailleurs, les auteurs d\u00e9j\u00e0 cit\u00e9s \u00e9crivent : \u00ab\u00a0The blue marking on S9 is often reduced compared to the holotype and in one paratype it is almost circular.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’abdomen de Telosticta santubong mesure 35 \u00e0 37.5 mm sans les appendices anaux et doit atteindre presque 45 mm de longueur totale.
Il fr\u00e9quente les ruisseaux pentus en for\u00eat (100 \u00e0 400 m d’altitude) et nous l’avons rencontr\u00e9 en compagnie de Prodasineura notostigma, sous la pluie…

Sa distribution est extr\u00eamement r\u00e9duite, puisque 20 ans apr\u00e8s sa d\u00e9couverte, il n’est toujours connu que de la montagne \u00e9ponyme, sur la p\u00e9ninsule Damai, le mont Santubong et son Parc National.

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong> (1)
Telosticta<\/strong>\u00a0est un nom f\u00e9minin, compos\u00e9 du grec \u03c4\u03bb\u03bf\u03c2, signifiant p\u00e9age, du nom de Jan van Tol, dont le nom de famille provient du mot n\u00e9erlandais de m\u00eame signification, en hommage \u00e0 ses contributions \u00e0 notre connaissance des Platystictidae, et du suffixe \u2013sticta, une terminaison g\u00e9n\u00e9rique courante dans la famille [des Platystictidae]. Sticta<\/em> vient du grec stiktos<\/em> qui signifie tach\u00e9<\/em>, tatou\u00e9<\/em>, et fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au genre Platysticta d\u2019Asie du Sud dont l\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 des ailes porte une tache sombre.
Santubong<\/strong>, comme d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9voqu\u00e9, se rapporte \u00e0 la localisation de l’holotype, Gunung Santubong, dans le Parc National du m\u00eame nom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
