Drepanosticta rufostigma (Platystictidae) a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit par Selys (sous le genre Platysticta), dans son synopsis des Platystictinae de Born\u00e9o<\/em> (1).
Il y a au moins 14 Drepanosticta au Sarawak (2), c’est pourtant le seul que nous ayons rencontr\u00e9.
Il ne faut pas se cacher les yeux, les Platystictidae sont une famille tr\u00e8s difficile en Asie (et ailleurs) pour les amateurs qui les d\u00e9couvrent et pour moi<\/em>, tirer des g\u00e9n\u00e9ralit\u00e9s qui permettent de distinguer les Drepanosticta, Protosticta ou Telosticta est illusoire sur le terrain. Ils sont difficiles \u00e0 trouver, \u00e0 approcher dans le milieu sombre qu’ils affectionnent : \u00ab\u00a0…those very inconspicuous and rare insects as the tropical Platystictinae really are.\u00a0\u00bb (1).
D’ailleurs, lorsque Lieftinck a d\u00e9crit ce sujet sous le genre Drepanosticta (et non plus Platysticta, Selys), il \u00e9tait confiant que cette famille qui comptait alors 6 esp\u00e8ces allait s’agrandir ; actuellement, on recense 10 genres et 286 esp\u00e8ces !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selys lui donne un abdomen de 30 mm (appendices anaux inclus ou non ?), Lieftinck 32.5 \u00e0 37 mm incluant les appendices anaux et si on se fie \u00e0 ce dernier, l’insecte atteint environ 41.5 mm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les Drepanosticta montrent des appendices anaux complexes, bifides, agr\u00e9ment\u00e9s de dents ou de tub\u00e9rosit\u00e9s, qui seraient bien sp\u00e9cifiques, et pourtant tellement voisines quand on regarde les planches pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans Dow, 2017 (3) ; c’est, sur le plan de la diff\u00e9renciation des appendices anaux, une vraie affaire de sp\u00e9cialistes, qui n\u00e9cessite capture et binoculaire.
Ils sont de plus variables quant \u00e0 la coloration du S9, qui peut pr\u00e9senter (voir plus bas) une petite tache bleue.

Sur une rivi\u00e8re du Bung Ngiraja Trail, nous avons eu la surprise de d\u00e9couvrir un individu qui, bri\u00e8vement, nous a sembl\u00e9 nouveau ! En effet, aucun des Drepanosticta connu ne pr\u00e9sente cette bande bleue interrompue (photo de gauche ci-dessous).
Malheureusement, quand nous avons pu tourner autour, la face droite de son thorax s’est av\u00e9r\u00e9e tout \u00e0 fait conforme \u00e0 un honn\u00eate Drepanosticta rufostigma, comme le montre la photo de droite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Noter ci-dessus \u00e0 gauche, l’\u00e9tendue de la tache bleue sur la face qui permettrait de le s\u00e9parer au moins de D. actaeon et de D. kosterini (3).
Et ci-dessous, sur cet autre sujet, il faut remarquer les magnifiques \u00e9pines des pattes moyennes et post\u00e9rieures ; les pattes ant\u00e9rieures montrent des soies beaucoup plus petites sur la moiti\u00e9 inf\u00e9rieure des tibias. On sait que les pattes ant\u00e9rieures servent \u00e0 la capture, ce qui est logique au regard de leur position, mais elles sont aussi utilis\u00e9es pour \u00ab\u00a0peigner\u00a0\u00bb les yeux !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il vit sur les rivi\u00e8res en for\u00eat ; j’ai pass\u00e9 de longues minutes \u00e0 quelques m\u00e8tres de lui \u00e0 tenter de photographier correctement un E. impar ; ombre et lumi\u00e8re, beaucoup d’ombre et des trou\u00e9es de soleil rendent les conditions difficiles pour les voir et les photographier. Devadatta podolestoides faisait aussi partie de la petite faune locale.

Il est end\u00e9mique de Born\u00e9o, essentiellement localis\u00e9 au nord, soit au Sarawak, Brunei et Sabah avec quelques mentions au nord-ouest du Kalimantan (3).

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong>
Drepanosticta<\/strong>\u00a0: du grec\u00a0drepanon<\/em>, pour\u00a0faucille, serpe<\/em>\u00a0et de\u00a0stiktos<\/em>\u00a0qui signifie\u00a0tatou\u00e9, marqu\u00e9 ou tachet\u00e9<\/em>. C\u2019est certainement la forme particuli\u00e8re du bord de l\u2019aile qui vaut \u00e0 ce genre cette d\u00e9nomination en \u00ab\u00a0faucille\u00a0\u00bb bien qu\u2019il ne soit pas fait mention de ce caract\u00e8re dans la description du genre par Laidlaw (3) en 1917.
Quant \u00e0 la mention de \u00ab\u00a0tach\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb (sticta) elle n\u2019est l\u00e0 que pour souligner son appartenance \u00e0 la famille des Platystictidae dont le nom d\u00e9rive des Platysticta, un genre d\u2019Asie du Sud dont l\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 des ailes porte une tache sombre (4).
Rufostigma<\/strong>, du verbe latin\u00a0rufo<\/em>\u00a0qui signifie devenir\u00a0roux,<\/em>\u00a0et de\u00a0stigma<\/em>,\u00a0marque au fer rouge<\/em>\u00a0ou\u00a0tache<\/em>, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence bien s\u00fbr \u00e0 la coloration des pt\u00e9rostigmas<\/a> (ce nom d’esp\u00e8ce est partag\u00e9 avec Ischnura rufostigma<\/a>, au moins). Selys ne pouvait avoir connaissance des nombreux Platystictidae qui ont des pt\u00e9rostigmas de la m\u00eame couleur…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
