Pseudagrion coomansi \u00e9tait vraisemblablement commun lors de notre navigation dans le parc national de Maludam ; en effet, nous avons pu observer d’assez de nombreux Pseudagrion pos\u00e9 sur la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation, souvent des Pandanus, qui bordaient cette rivi\u00e8re -canal. S’il est probable que tous \u00e9taient des repr\u00e9sentants de cette esp\u00e8ce, il se glissait peut-\u00eatre parmi eux quelques P. microcephalum, car les deux esp\u00e8ces sont tr\u00e8s voisines et ce n’est qu’en r\u00e9digeant cette page que j’ai appris \u00e0 les diff\u00e9rencier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Et il est quasiment impossible de les diff\u00e9rencier depuis… une pirogue en mouvement. Comme on le constate ci-dessus (encore mieux en cliquant sur la photo), deux d\u00e9tails \u00ab\u00a0facilement visibles\u00a0\u00bb permettent de les s\u00e9parer : la taille du point noir \u00e0 la partie ant\u00e9rieure de la suture interpleurale (le point sur la face lat\u00e9rale du thorax…) et la forme du dessin noir du deuxi\u00e8me segment abdominal.
En effet, le S2 porte une marque noire en forme de rectangle avec un pied tr\u00e8s court joignant le S3 et plus ou moins bien ferm\u00e9 ant\u00e9rieurement, encerclant ainsi un rond ou un ovale bleu.

Les appendices anaux sont nettement diff\u00e9rents aussi, mais je n’ai pas de photo et les deux photos que je montre ici sont les seules correctes (photos faites depuis une pirogue). De plus, il manque \u00e0 la description de Lieftinck les pages 88 et 89 o\u00f9 se trouvent certainement une description comparative de ces appendices et des dessins ! On ne peut y lire que \u00ab\u00a0P. coomansi is easily distinguished… by the widely different appendages…\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La taille exacte manque \u00e9galement dans le document de Lieftinck ; je suppose que sa taille est voisine de son sosie P. microcephalum, qui atteint 30 \u00e0 34 mm.

Il est pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 Born\u00e9o et vraisemblablement au sud de Sumatra (il y a deux observations cr\u00e9dibles sur iNaturalist<\/a>).

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong>
Pseudagrion<\/strong>\u00a0(2) du grec ancien,\u00a0pseudo<\/em>\u00a0\u2013faux, erron\u00e9,<\/em>\u00a0et d\u2019agrion<\/em>, ceci, comme l\u2019\u00e9crit Selys (1876), pour t\u00e9moigner de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 s\u00e9parer ce genre des Agrion ; \u00ab\u00a0les Pseudagrions semblent tr\u00e8s voisins des vrais Agrions\u00a0\u00bb. Agrion, du grec\u00a0Agrios<\/em>\u2013\u00a0sauvage<\/em>, vivant dans les champs.
Coomans<\/strong>i est un hommage de Lieftinck \u00e0 Louis Coomans de Ruiter (1898 – 1972), ornithologue, botaniste, entomologiste et collectionneur qui a r\u00e9uni pour notre auteur une collection de 130 esp\u00e8ces dans l’ouest de Born\u00e9o, dont au moins 16 \u00e9taient nouvelles. Il lui a d’ailleurs d\u00e9di\u00e9 au moins cinq autres esp\u00e8ces, un Coeliccia, un Elattoneura, un Podolestes, et un Leptogomphus et un Libellago !
