Amphicnemis cf. dactylostyla est un Coenagrionidae, non encore d\u00e9crit, proche bien s\u00fbr de son cousin A. dactylostyla d\u00e9crit par Lieftinck, 1953 (1). Il fait partie d’un genre tr\u00e8s difficile qui compte, pour l’instant, 22 esp\u00e8ces en Asie et 12 \u00e0 Born\u00e9o.
Ils sont pour certains tr\u00e8s ressemblants et ne peuvent \u00eatre s\u00e9par\u00e9s que la pr\u00e9sence d’une \u00e9ventuelle \u00e9pine sur le pronotum ou l’examen minutieux des appendices anaux.
L’identification a \u00e9t\u00e9 assur\u00e9e ici par Rory Dow, le sp\u00e9cialiste des odonates de cette grande ile, qui \u00e9tait sur le terrain avec nous et qui a utilis\u00e9 ce nom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ici, l’identification est grandement facilit\u00e9e par le fait que les pt\u00e9rostigmas des ailes post\u00e9rieures sont jaunes, ceux des ant\u00e9rieures restant orange ou marron clair.
Ils se caract\u00e9risent par la couleur vert m\u00e9tallique des parties sup\u00e9rieures du thorax et de l’abdomen alors que les parties inf\u00e9rieures sont jaunes, un dernier segment et des appendices tr\u00e8s clairs, cet abdomen \u00e9tant d\u00e9mesur\u00e9ment long par rapport au thorax.
En d\u00e9crivant A. dactylostyla, Lieftinck \u00e9crit : \u00ab\u00a0Cette nouvelle esp\u00e8ce est le troisi\u00e8me membre [avec A. platystyla et A. martini] d’un petit groupe d’Amphicnemis de Born\u00e9o, caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par une combinaison de traits morphologiques. Les plus marquants sont la forme carr\u00e9e du pt\u00e9rostigma, le lobe prothoracique post\u00e9rieur non arm\u00e9 [sans \u00e9pine] et la courte branche inf\u00e9rieure des appendices anales sup\u00e9rieures du m\u00e2le.\u00a0\u00bb A. cf. dactylostyla est donc certainement une quatri\u00e8me esp\u00e8ce de ce petit groupe.

Il se diff\u00e9rencie cependant de ceux-ci par la coloration et forme des pt\u00e9rostigmas et celle des appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs (les inf\u00e9rieurs sont rudimentaires, et \u00e0 peine visible sur les photos).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En fait, il est class\u00e9 par Dow (2), sous la rubrique Amphicnemis martini complex<\/em> dans ce document de 2021, o\u00f9 il renvoie \u00e0 un d’autre, dont Dow & Reels, 2010 (3) o\u00f9 il \u00e9crit \u00e0 propos de cet Amphicnemis sp. :\u00a0\u00bbProblematic Amphicnemis taxa that are the subject of ongoing investigation\u00a0\u00bb. Cette enqu\u00eate ou recherche n’a apparemment pas encore abouti, puisqu’en mars 2025, dans cette tourbi\u00e8re foresti\u00e8re, Rory Dow l’appelle toujours A. cf. dactylostyla.

J<\/em>e ne connais pas sa taille, sans doute proche des autres Amphicnemis, moins de 40 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sa distribution n’est \u00e9videmment pas connue avec pr\u00e9cision, il est certainement end\u00e9mique de Born\u00e9o, peut-\u00eatre m\u00eame du Sarawak.
Je suppose que cette femelle, trouv\u00e9e parmi ces m\u00e2les, est de la m\u00eame esp\u00e8ce ; les pt\u00e9rostigmas sont nettement plus ternes, comme c’est souvent le cas pour les femelles de tous genres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong>
Amphicnemis<\/strong> (Selys, 1863) : Amphi-<\/em> du grec \u1f00\u03bc\u03c6\u03af<\/em> qui signifie des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s<\/em> et de cnemis<\/em> qui signifie jambe ou tibia et a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 pour cr\u00e9er de nombreux genres depuis les Platycnemis, genres qui n\u2019ont plus rien de particulier pour la largeur de leur tibia, mais ont des points communs de nervation.
Robin Ngiam & Marcus Ng (3) proposent l\u2019explication suivante concernant amphi<\/em> : Selys a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le genre Amphicnemis pour y placer A. wallacii qu\u2019il trouvait ressemblant avec Amphilestes macrocephala (maintenant Rhinagrion macrocephalum<\/a>). Cette esp\u00e8ce pr\u00e9sente des points noirs des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s<\/em> du thorax. J\u2019ai bien du mal \u00e0 accepter cette version, ayant rencontr\u00e9 R. macrocephalum\u2026 mais je n\u2019ai pas d\u2019autre explication.

Dactylostyla<\/strong> du grec daktulos<\/em> qui signifie doigt<\/em> et de styla<\/em> du grec sylo<\/em> pour colonne<\/em>, pilier<\/em>, puis du latin stylus<\/em>,qui signifie poin\u00e7on<\/em> sans doute en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la forme de la branche sup\u00e9rieure des appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs.
Martini<\/strong> ( Ris, 1911) (4) ; Ris \u00e9crit (en allemand) : \u00a0\u00bb Le conseiller juridique, le Dr Martin, qui r\u00e9side \u00e0 Diessen, au bord du lac d’Ammer, a eu la grande amabilit\u00e9 de me confier une collection d’odonates qu’il avait ramen\u00e9e de Born\u00e9o en 1910. \u00a0\u00bb Ludwig Martin (1858-1924) \u00e9tait un m\u00e9decin allemand qui v\u00e9cut et exer\u00e7a sa profession pendant un certain temps \u00e0 Palu, dans une ile du Sulawesi. Il collectionnait les insectes, principalement les l\u00e9pidopt\u00e8res, dans plusieurs \u00eeles d’Indon\u00e9sie (alors colonie n\u00e9erlandaise des Indes orientales).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
