Il faut sans doute d’abord expliquer pourquoi on a donn\u00e9 \u00e0 ce Platycnemididae un nom si curieux : Coeliccia new sp. cf. nemoricola. Il s’agit tout simplement d’une nouvelle (new<\/em>) esp\u00e8ce (sp.<\/em>) de Coeliccia tr\u00e8s proche (cf. pour confer<\/em>) de nemoricola<\/em>.
En toute rigueur, et je suis d’ailleurs surpris, on aurait d\u00fb utiliser sp. nov.<\/em> pour species nova<\/em> (et non pas new sp.<\/em>) signifiant nouvelle esp\u00e8ce<\/em> plut\u00f4t qu’un terme anglais. Mais le texte (1) auquel je fais r\u00e9f\u00e9rence ne d\u00e9crit pas cette nouvelle esp\u00e8ce, il la mentionne seulement, et \u00e9chappe sans doute de ce fait \u00e0 la rigueur des conventions internationales, ce dont Rory Dow, expert local et r\u00e9gional, est forc\u00e9ment conscient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le probl\u00e8me est d’essayer de savoir de ce qui distingue cette esp\u00e8ce de C. nemoricola. J’ai bien trouv\u00e9 la description de cette esp\u00e8ce par Laidlaw, mais rien de pr\u00e9cis ou d’\u00e9vident ne s\u00e9pare les deux esp\u00e8ces, sauf \u00ab\u00a0Abdomen entirely dull black (in one specimen there is some trace of lighter colour on the dorsal side of segment 10). Abdomen enti\u00e8rement noir terne (sur un sp\u00e9cimen, il y a une trace de couleur plus claire sur la face dorsale du segment 10)\u00a0\u00bb. Notre sujet montre non seulement un S10 enti\u00e8rement bleu p\u00e2le, mais aussi les 8\/10\u00b0 apicaux du S9. Laidlaw a d\u00e9crit l’esp\u00e8ce \u00e0 partir d’un sujet de collection, et on ne savait pas, \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque, conserver correctement les couleurs des sp\u00e9cimens.
Pour illustrer ces probl\u00e8mes de coloration, il \u00e9crit d’ailleurs \u00e0 propos du thorax \u00ab\u00a0an indication of a narrow antehumeral stripe on either side, of a dull black purple colour, and of a band of similar colour at the base of the side of the thorax. During life it is possible that these bands are of a brighter colour. (une indication d’une \u00e9troite bande ant\u00e9hum\u00e9rale de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9, d’une teinte terne violet fonc\u00e9, et une bande d’une couleur similaire \u00e0 la base du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du thorax. Sur le sujet vivant, il est possible que ces bandes soient d’une couleur plus vive.)\u00a0\u00bb.
Et bien s\u00fbr, il n’y a pas de description de notre nouvelle esp\u00e8ce ; auquel cas, elle aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 baptis\u00e9e.

Je ne sais donc pas si les appendices anaux sont diff\u00e9rents, Laidlaw n’a pas fait leur dessin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si on veut se r\u00e9f\u00e9rer aux photos pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es comme C. nemoricola sur iNaturalist, il faut \u00eatre prudent et v\u00e9rifier qu’elles ont bien \u00e9t\u00e9 prises dans une des aires o\u00f9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 historiquement observ\u00e9 cette esp\u00e8ce ou un des territoires sur lesquels il est officiellement connu ; ce sujet<\/a> a \u00e9t\u00e9 justement photographi\u00e9 sur le mont Kinabalu \u00e0 Sabah.
Je note les diff\u00e9rences suivantes ; la tache sur le pronotum est beaucoup plus \u00e9tendue, comme celle sur le S9 presque compl\u00e8tement color\u00e9 et qui est \u00e0 peine encoch\u00e9 ant\u00e9rieurement, et les appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs semblent nettement plus courts que sur mes photos.
En conclusion, il y a au moins 15 esp\u00e8ces de Coeliccia au Sarawak (80 en Asie), plusieurs esp\u00e8ces sont en cours de description, d’autres sont simplement connues et certainement d’autres restent \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir ; il faudra donc repasser dans quelques ann\u00e9es sur cette page pour conna\u00eetre le nom de cette esp\u00e8ce et avoir plus de certitudes sur ce genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons rencontr\u00e9 cette esp\u00e8ce \u00e0 deux reprises, deux jours pluvieux, sur le m\u00eame type de biotope ; un foss\u00e9 tr\u00e8s encombr\u00e9 de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation drainant les petits torrents, ruisseaux et suintements de la moyenne montagne, le long d’une route ou d’un sentier, apportant un peu de lumi\u00e8re. Il se trouvait en compagnie de Coeliccia flavostriata<\/a> et de Stenagrion dubium<\/a>, entre autres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai l’habitude de donner la taille des esp\u00e8ces que je photographie en trouvant des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences dans la litt\u00e9rature, car je ne capture pas ; ici, c’est difficile, l’esp\u00e8ce n’est pas d\u00e9crite encore.
Alors, on se contentera de la taille de C. nemoricola indiqu\u00e9e par Laidlaw ; l’abdomen mesure 50 mm ce qui fait un tr\u00e8s beau zygopt\u00e8re de 60 mm !
Je rappelle que le plus grand zygopt\u00e8re europ\u00e9en, Chalcolestes viridis<\/a> n’atteint que 39 \u00e0 48 mm.

Tant que la taxinomie n’est pas fix\u00e9e, son aire de r\u00e9partition reste relativement incertaine ; Dow (1) \u00e9crit que Coeliccia sp. nov. cf. nemoricola est end\u00e9mique du Sarawak et de Brunei, tandis que l’esp\u00e8ce nominale, C. nemoricola serait un peu plus au nord, \u00e0 Brunei et au Sarawak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong>
Selys a d\u00e9crit la premi\u00e8re esp\u00e8ce du genre en 1863 sous le nom de genre pr\u00e9occup\u00e9 de Trichocnemis (col\u00e9opt\u00e8re longicorne) et c\u2019est Kirby qui a rectifi\u00e9 et cr\u00e9\u00e9 le genre Coeliccia<\/strong> en 1890. Ce nom de genre, inexpliqu\u00e9 par l\u2019auteur \u00e0 ma connaissance, vient peut-\u00eatre du latin coelum <\/em> (ou  <\/strong>caelum<\/em> <\/strong>), qui signifie ciel<\/em> ou c\u00e9leste<\/em>, et d\u2019un suffixe ou simple terminaison choisie pour l\u2019esth\u00e9tique ou la phon\u00e9tique. En effet, la premi\u00e8re esp\u00e8ce d\u00e9crite par Selys, Trichocnemis membranipes, est bleu-ciel<\/em>, pour toutes ses parties non noires.
Nemoricola<\/strong>, du latin nemus<\/em> pour bois<\/em>, for\u00eat<\/em> et du suffixe cola<\/em> qui indique la fr\u00e9quentation<\/em> ou l’habitat<\/em>, pour signifier que cette esp\u00e8ce se rencontre en for\u00eat.<\/p>\n<\/div>
