J’avais rencontr\u00e9 tr\u00e8s bri\u00e8vement et dans de mauvaises conditions le m\u00e2le Trithemis pallidinervis (Libellulidae) au Rajasthan<\/a> (Inde)\u202f; cette fois-ci, je n’ai vu qu’une jeune femelle, d’un peu plus pr\u00e8s, et en tout cas d’un peu plus haut… Elle se posait sur les rameaux \u00e9mergeant d’un grand \u00e9tang, \u00e0 Van Long, au niveau de la mer.
On remarque une particularit\u00e9 de ce tr\u00e8s \u00e9l\u00e9gant Dancing Dropwing ; la nervure costale, nervure la plus ant\u00e9rieure de l’aile est jaune clair au-del\u00e0 du pt\u00e9rostigma.
L’esp\u00e8ce mesure un peu plus de 40 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On le rencontre depuis l’Iran jusqu’\u00e0 Ta\u00efwan et au sud jusqu’\u00e0 Sumatra et les Philippines.

L’origine de son nom d’esp\u00e8ce provient de la finesse de sa nervation l\u00e9g\u00e8rement color\u00e9e qui est certainement responsable de l’impression de l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 qu’elle donne.
Trithemis, du Latin\u00a0Tri<\/em>\u00a0pour \u00ab\u00a0trois\u00a0\u00bb en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence au pronotum trilob\u00e9 et\u00a0Themis<\/em>\u00a0d\u00e9esse grecque de l’ordre, de la justice. Hagen en 1861 a cr\u00e9\u00e9 plusieurs noms de genres termin\u00e9s par le suffixe Themis, sans doute parce que d’autres noms de libellules comportaient des noms de dieux comme Echo ou Nehalennia. Le nom de la d\u00e9esse de l’ordre est particuli\u00e8rement bien adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 la taxonomie, science qui vise \u00e0 d\u00e9crire et ordonner les familles, genres et esp\u00e8ces.
Pallidinervis, du latin\u00a0pallid, pallidi<\/em>\u00a0signifiant p\u00e2le, et nervis du latin\u00a0nerv, nervus<\/em>\u00a0signifiant nerf, tendon, ceci pour \u00e9voquer la transparence ou la faible coloration de la nervation de cette esp\u00e8ce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
