Ceriagrion rubellocerinum<\/strong>, Coenagrionidae, fait bien s\u00fbr penser, surtout par son nom d’ailleurs, \u00e0 Ceriagrion cerinorubellum<\/a> que l’on trouve largement r\u00e9pandu en Asie. Fraser,1947, \u00e9crit qu’il a cru avoir affaire \u00e0 cette esp\u00e8ce en C\u00f4te d’Ivoire.
Personnellement, je trouve la version asiatique beaucoup plus spectaculaire.
Il n’y a pas de risque de confusion avec un autre Coenagrionidae ; la flexion des derniers segments abdominaux est vraiment typique des Ceriagrion, et sa coloration \u00e9carte toute autre esp\u00e8ce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ci-dessus un sujet mature plus \u00e2g\u00e9, remarquable par la pruinosit\u00e9 du thorax et ses yeux nettement sombres et verts.
Noter la mousse sur la face dorsale des sixi\u00e8me et septi\u00e8me segments, t\u00e9moin de l’humidit\u00e9 ambiante.

Fraser mesure son abdomen \u00e0 38 mm. Sa longueur totale atteint donc environ 46 mm.

Noter les yeux tricolores chez les sujets non r\u00e9ellement matures ; verts dans leur partie inf\u00e9rieure, rouges et noirs dans leur partie sup\u00e9rieure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il est beaucoup moins commun que C. glabrum que l’on peut rencontrer, en for\u00eat ou en milieu plus ouvert. Cerriagrion rubellocerinum est surtout pr\u00e9sent en limite de for\u00eats ou de zones arbor\u00e9es, en pr\u00e9sence de mares, et il se dissimule rapidement \u00e0 l’int\u00e9rieur de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation et des arbustes.

Il est distribu\u00e9 au sud de l’Afrique de l’Ouest, de la Sierra Leone \u00e0 l’ouest au Nigeria \u00e0 l’est. Il atteint le Cameroun, un peu plus au sud.

Ces femelles sont identifi\u00e9es par leur proximit\u00e9 avec les m\u00e2les et bien s\u00fbr l’absence d’autres esp\u00e8ces de m\u00e2les Ceriagrion. On retrouve d’ailleurs certains d\u00e9tails de coloration qu’elles partagent avec les m\u00e2les.
Les deux ci-dessus sont jeunes, celle de gauche quasi \u00e9mergente, celle ci-dessous est sans doute mature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tymologie<\/strong>
Ceriagrion<\/strong>\u00a0; le genre a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Selys, 1876, lorsqu\u2019il a divis\u00e9 le grand genre Agrion, vraisemblablement pour l\u2019esp\u00e8ce\u00a0cerinorubellum<\/em>, \u00e0 partir de\u00a0agrion<\/em>\u00a0(tr\u00e8s utilis\u00e9 pour la cr\u00e9ation de noms de\u2026 Coenagrionidae et qui est issu du grec\u00a0agrios<\/em>\u00a0pour\u00a0sauvage, vivant dans les champs<\/em>) et du latin\u00a0cerinus<\/em>\u00a0signifiant\u00a0couleur<\/em>\u00a0(ou\u00a0aspect<\/em>\u00a0?)\u00a0de cire<\/em>, comme le thorax lisse et glabre du genre. Rubellocerinum<\/strong> ; ce nom d’esp\u00e8ce est un clin d’\u0153il \u00e0 Brauer qui a d\u00e9crit Ceriagrion cerinorubellum. Fraser \u00e9crit : \u00ab\u00a0The colouring of this new species is almost a replica of C . cerinorubellum (Brulle) of the Oriental fauna and I actually mistook it at first for that species and only closer inspection showed it to be a most remarkable case of similarity through convergence.<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0
Fraser s’est certainement tromp\u00e9 car il attribue l’esp\u00e8ce asiatique \u00e0 Brull\u00e9<\/strong> ; les noms des deux auteurs commencent par les m\u00eames lettres \u00ab\u00a0Br\u2026\u00a0\u00bb ! Mais Brull\u00e9 est bien connu des odonatologues europ\u00e9ens pour avoir d\u00e9crit Crocothemis erythraea en 1832.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
