J'avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 rencontr\u00e9 Gomphidictinus perakensis, Gomphidae, en Malaisie<\/a> (d'o\u00f9 est originaire le sujet d\u00e9crit par Laidlaw) en 2013 et \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque le genre \u00e9tait monosp\u00e9cifique\u202f; en 2016 Karube y a ajout\u00e9 Gomphidictinus kompieri<\/a>.
Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9crit sous le genre Gomphidia dont il est effectivement tr\u00e8s proche, mais Fraser pointant des diff\u00e9rences d\u00e9j\u00e0 remarqu\u00e9es par Laidlaw, en particulier au niveau du p\u00e9nis, a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le genre Gomphidictinus pour lui seul \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il mesure 78 mm selon Laidlaw.
Il se pla\u00eet pr\u00e8s des rivi\u00e8res foresti\u00e8res o\u00f9 sa larve est connue pour s'enfouir profond\u00e9ment dans la liti\u00e8re de feuilles en d\u00e9composition qui tapisse leur lit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On le rencontre en Malaisie p\u00e9ninsulaire, au Laos, en Tha\u00eflande et au Vietnam o\u00f9 il n'a assez longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 connu que du sud, sa pr\u00e9sence est maintenant affirm\u00e9e presque jusqu'\u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re chinoise.
