Si on en doutait, la taxonomie africaine est tr\u00e8s mouvante et tr\u00e8s complexe pour des genres proches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hadrothemis-camarensis-male-2.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1822\" height=\"1204\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hadrothemis-camarensis-male-2.webp\" alt=\"Hadrothemis camarensis m\u00e2le, Ghana, Ankasa Forest Reserve, 16\/01\/2026\" class=\"wp-image-28686 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1822px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1822\/1204;aspect-ratio:1.5133168767052099;width:617px;height:auto\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hadrothemis-camarensis-male-2.webp 1822w, https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hadrothemis-camarensis-male-2-768x508.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hadrothemis-camarensis-male-2-1536x1015.webp 1536w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1822px) 100vw, 1822px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hadrothemis camarensis m\u00e2le, Ghana, Ankasa Forest Reserve, 16\/01\/2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Je n&rsquo;ai malheureusement que les deux photos ci-dessus du seul m\u00e2le que nous avons rencontr\u00e9 le long d&rsquo;un chemin de d\u00e9bardage, ce qui ne permet pas de bien voir la face dorsale de son thorax qui pr\u00e9sente deux larges bandes blanches ; Kirby l&rsquo;a pourtant trouv\u00e9 proche de <em>Orthetrum albistylum<\/em> (<em>Allied to O. albistyla, Selys<\/em>&#8230;) signalant qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;en distingue par les ailes sombres (l\u00e9g\u00e8rement ambr\u00e9es \u00e0 la base et enfum\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;apex) et les appendices anaux noirs. Ces d\u00e9tails, et la pruinosit\u00e9 abdominale limit\u00e9e \u00e0 sa \u00ab\u00a0selle\u00a0\u00bb blanche, font qu&rsquo;il est impossible \u00e0 confondre avec un autre Libellulidae. <br><br>Selon Kirby le m\u00e2le mesure 49 mm, pour Legrand (2003) 47 mm, pour Karsch 50 mm et la femelle 51 mm.<br><br>Hadrothemis camarensis est li\u00e9 \u00e0 la for\u00eat car les femelles, hautement sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es, sont les seules connues en Afrique pour pondre dans les phytotelmes, en particulier dans les trous d&rsquo;eau des arbres (jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 plus de 22 m de hauteur), avec peut-\u00eatre <em>H. vrijdaghi<\/em> et&nbsp;<em>H. scabrifrons<\/em> (Copeland, Okeka &amp; Corbet, 1996). <br>C&rsquo;est pour cette raison que les anglo-saxons lui donnent le nom de <em>Tree-hole Jungle-skimmer<\/em>. Le nom de la d\u00e9esse de l\u2019ordre est particuli\u00e8rement bien adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 la taxonomie, science qui vise \u00e0 d\u00e9crire et ordonner les familles, genres et esp\u00e8ces. Ce \u2013<em>themis<\/em>\u00a0est en fait devenu un signal d\u2019appartenance aux Libellulidae. Karsch, d\u00e9crivant le genre Hadrothemis \u00e9crit : \u00ab\u00a0Kurz, plump und dick \u2013 Court, lourd et \u00e9pais\u00a0\u00bb, qui se rapporte \u00e0 son thorax massif.<br><strong>Camarensis<\/strong> signifie <em>qui provient du Cameroun<\/em>. Historiquement, le terme Cameroun est issu de la <em>Rivi\u00e8re des Crevettes<\/em>, <em>Rio dos Camar\u00f5es<\/em> en Portuguais, appel\u00e9e Wouri par les autochtones. Les noms scientifiques ont conserv\u00e9 le pr\u00e9fixe <em>camar<\/em>, auquel est ajout\u00e9 le suffixe &#8211;<em>ensis<\/em> pour indiquer la provenance. Et bien s\u00fbr, Kirby mentionne \u00ab\u00a0<em>Hab. Cameroons<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb [pour <em>habitat Cameroun<\/em>].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:55px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:13px\"><strong>Robert S.
