Chlorocypha rubida se distingue assez facilement de tous les autres membres de son genre (30 end\u00e9miques d’Afrique tropicale dont 7 au Ghana) par un ensemble de caract\u00e9ristiques faciles \u00e0 mettre en \u00e9vidence ; la face est enti\u00e8rement noire, les tibias compl\u00e8tement sombres (sans \u00ab\u00a0blanc\u00a0\u00bb), l’abdomen rouge-ros\u00e9 (Rosy Jewel<\/em> en anglais). Aux parties m\u00e9diane et inf\u00e9rieure du thorax, il pr\u00e9sente 2 larges bandes jaun\u00e2tres, 2 fines, plus ou moins masqu\u00e9es chez les sujets adultes, \u00e0 la partie sup\u00e9rieure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9voqu\u00e9 plus haut, lorsque les sujets prennent de l’\u00e2ge, les marques claires s’estompent et ils peuvent alors \u00eatre confondus avec C. selysi, dont la face comporte cependant des marques claires.
Les 2 points jaunes sur la face lat\u00e9rale du 2\u1d49 segment semblent diagnostiques de l’esp\u00e8ce, au Ghana, en tout cas.

Je n’ai rencontr\u00e9 cette esp\u00e8ce qu’une seule fois, tr\u00e8s bri\u00e8vement, ce qui explique que toutes mes photos soient prises \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s sous le m\u00eame angle, sur le m\u00eame support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hagen, qui l’a d\u00e9crit dans le genre Libellago<\/em>, mesure son abdomen \u00e0 22 mm et son aile post\u00e9rieure \u00e0 24 mm. Il mesure donc au total environ 33 mm.
Nous avons rencontr\u00e9 ce m\u00e2le, accompagn\u00e9 de la femelle plus bas, le long d’un sentier forestier, sans que nous ayons aper\u00e7u un ruisseau ou une pi\u00e8ce d’eau \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 ; mais il est facile de manquer un ruisseau, en contrebas, dans l’ombre de la for\u00eat. Car on lit sur ADDO : \u00ab\u00a0Principalement des sources et des cours d’eau d’amont, mais aussi des ruisseaux plus larges, ombrag\u00e9s par la for\u00eat<\/em>.\u00a0\u00bb
L’identification de la femelle est difficile \u00e0 prouver ; nous n’avons pas vu d’autre Chlorocypha ce jour et cette femelle se trouvait en compagnie du m\u00e2le. Il serait donc tr\u00e8s \u00e9tonnant qu’il s’agisse d’une autre esp\u00e8ce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chlorocypha<\/strong>, du grec chloro<\/em>, pour jaune ou vert<\/em>, et de cyphos<\/em> qui signifie bossu<\/em>, bosse<\/em>, pour la couleur du curieux clypeus<\/em> de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce, certainement chez un sujet immature. Fraser<\/em> \u00e9crit : \u00ab I have chosen the name Chlorocypha for this genus, based on the specific character mentioned by Palisot de Beauvois for the type species dispar : <\/em>\u00ab\u00a0le chaperon [Clypeus] est d\u2019un jaune-verd\u00e2tre<\/em>\u00ab\u00a0. Il est pour moi certain que Palisot de Beauvois n\u2019a jamais \u00e9crit ces mots dans sa description, ni Selys dans son Synopsis des Calopt\u00e9rygines, ni dans sa Monographie des Calopt\u00e9rygines. L\u2019origine de la citation de Fraser reste pour moi un myst\u00e8re.
