{"id":28931,"date":"2026-04-17T19:31:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T17:31:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/?p=28931"},"modified":"2026-04-17T19:43:43","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T17:43:43","slug":"gomphidia-gamblesi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/2026\/04\/17\/gomphidia-gamblesi\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana &#8211; Gomphidia gamblesi\u00a0 Gauthier, 1987"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Durant ces 12 jours de prospection au Ghana, nous n&rsquo;avons rencontr\u00e9 que deux Gomphidae : Gomphidia gamblesi et P. serrulatus, tous deux sur la m\u00eame rivi\u00e8re, \u00e0 une vingtaine de m\u00e8tres l&rsquo;un de l&rsquo;autre, alors que le pays en compte une vingtaine.<br>C&rsquo;est bien s\u00fbr un tr\u00e8s faible score, qui s&rsquo;explique par le choix des milieux forestiers que nous avons explor\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gomphidia-gamblesi.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1436\" height=\"987\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gomphidia-gamblesi.webp\" alt=\"Gomphidia gamblesi m\u00e2le, Ghana, Ankasa Forest Reserve, 17\/01\/2026\" class=\"wp-image-28930 lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1436px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1436\/987;aspect-ratio:1.4549451647555522;width:613px;height:auto\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gomphidia-gamblesi.webp 1436w, https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Gomphidia-gamblesi-768x528.webp 768w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1436px) 100vw, 1436px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Gomphidia gamblesi m\u00e2le, Ghana, Ankasa Forest Reserve, 17\/01\/2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On ne risque pas de le confondre avec un autre Gomphidia, il est seul de son genre dans le pays. <br>Il est par contre proche de Diastatomma gamblesi, dont il se diff\u00e9rencie facilement par les appendices anaux qui sont ici en forme de pince ; les cerques (appendices anaux sup\u00e9rieurs) sont fortement courb\u00e9s vers l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur et redress\u00e9s \u00e0 leur extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 ; ceux de D. gamblesi sont tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rents et courb\u00e9s vers le bas.<br><br>Gauthier (1987) nous dit que son abdomen mesure 42 \u00e0 46 mm, ce qui donne une taille totale d&rsquo;environ 56 mm.<br>Selon Legrand (2003), il fr\u00e9quenterait les ruisseaux de taille moyenne en for\u00eat. Nous l&rsquo;avons rencontr\u00e9 dans un tr\u00e8s fort r\u00e9tr\u00e9cissement, une sorte de cul-de-sac (l&rsquo;amont \u00e9tant inaccessible de par la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation exub\u00e9rante en raison d&rsquo;arbres renvers\u00e9s) d&rsquo;une rivi\u00e8re tr\u00e8s ombrag\u00e9e de 6 \u00e0 8 m\u00e8tres de large. Ayant aper\u00e7u un odonate en vol dans cette partie plus d\u00e9gag\u00e9e, un de mes compagnons y avait judicieusement plant\u00e9 une branche dans l&rsquo;eau !<br>Il n&rsquo;est rest\u00e9 que quelques secondes sur ce perchoir et la longue p\u00e9riode d&rsquo;attente qu&rsquo;ont v\u00e9cue mes compagnons a \u00e9t\u00e9 peu r\u00e9compens\u00e9e (je suis arriv\u00e9 au bon moment, mais je n&rsquo;ai que quelques photos, toutes sous le m\u00eame angle).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/17-01-2026-11h14-Ankasa-Forest-Reserve.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"904\" height=\"1204\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/17-01-2026-11h14-Ankasa-Forest-Reserve.webp\" alt=\"Biotope Gomphidia gamblesi, Ghana, Ankasa Forest Reserve, 17\/01\/2026\" class=\"wp-image-28938 size-full lazyload\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/17-01-2026-11h14-Ankasa-Forest-Reserve.webp 904w, https:\/\/www.meslibellules.fr\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/17-01-2026-11h14-Ankasa-Forest-Reserve-768x1023.webp 768w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 904px) 100vw, 904px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 904px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 904\/1204;\" \/><\/a><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>On le rencontre de la Guin\u00e9e, la Sierra Leone et le Lib\u00e9ria jusqu&rsquo;au Cameroun, il n&rsquo;est cependant pas confirm\u00e9 au Nig\u00e9ria (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220706224531\/http:\/\/addo.adu.org.za\/index.php?taxon_id=46900\">ADDO<\/a>).<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iucnredlist.org\/species\/184237\/8249056\">IUCN Red List<\/a>.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>\u00c9tymologie<\/strong><br><strong>Gomphidia<\/strong>, de gomphus issu d\u2019un mot grec qui signifie&nbsp;<em>cheville<\/em>&nbsp;ou&nbsp;<em>boulon<\/em>, en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 la forme de l\u2019abdomen (de la plupart des esp\u00e8ces), qui ressemble \u00e0 une&nbsp;<em>cheville pour assembler les bateaux<\/em>. Et de <em>idios<\/em> qui signifie <em>s\u00e9par\u00e9<\/em>, <em>distinct<\/em>, car ce genre se distingue des Gomphus par plusieurs caract\u00e9ristiques dont l&rsquo;expansion du S8.<br><strong>Gamblesi<\/strong> est un hommage \u00e0 Robert Moylan Gambles (1910\u20131990), \u00e9minent v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaire et entomologiste britannique, particuli\u00e8rement reconnu pour son expertise sur les odonates, pour l&rsquo;aide apport\u00e9e dans la description de cette esp\u00e8ce.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:69px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:13px\"><strong>Gauthier A., 1987<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/277197989_Description_d'une_nouvelle_espece_de_Gomphidae_du_Togo_Afrique_Occidentale_Gomphidia_gamblesi_specnov_Odonata\">Description d&rsquo;une nouvelle esp\u00e8ce de Gomphidae du Togo (Afrique Occidentale) Gomphidia gamblesi spec.nov.
