Quel plaisir de retrouver cette petite merveille ! Les anglo-saxons l’appellent d’ailleurs le Common Blue Jewel ! Je l’avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 rencontr\u00e9 au Vietnam en 2012 et j’avais pu bien l’observer en Malaisie<\/a>.
Malgr\u00e9 ses 25 mm, il ne passe pas inaper\u00e7u sur les rivi\u00e8res tant ses couleurs et son vol attirent le regard, tout comme sa face pour le moins \u00e9trange avec ce dr\u00f4le d’appendice.

C’est vraiment en vol qu’ils sont le plus amusant lorsque \u00e0 2, 3 ou plus, ils s’affrontent en une ronde d’apparence d\u00e9sordonn\u00e9e, un vrai plaisir pour les observateurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les femelles sont assez clownesques avec leur abdomen \u00e9pais et leur appendice \u00ab\u00a0nasal\u00a0\u00bb protub\u00e9rant, mais se laissent approcher sans trop de difficult\u00e9s quand elles sont \u00e0 pondre\u00a0: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu’il s’agisse de l’une de ses sous-esp\u00e8ces ou de l’esp\u00e8ce nominale, on le rencontre depuis l’extr\u00eame est de l’Inde jusqu’\u00e0 Hong Kong et Ta\u00efwan, et au sud jusqu’en Malaisie p\u00e9ninsulaire.
