On peut rencontrer Trithemis annulata, le Trithemis pourpr\u00e9, dans toute l'Afrique, jusqu'en l'Afrique du Sud<\/a> et m\u00eame en France ! J'avais rencontr\u00e9 son cousin Trithemis annulata haematina<\/em>  \u00e0 la R\u00e9union<\/a>.
Parmi la dizaine de Trithemis pr\u00e9sent en \u00c9thiopie, il est facile \u00e0 identifier par sa couleur et la pr\u00e9sence des 2 taches noires sur les derniers segments, un peu \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on de nos Sympetrum europ\u00e9ens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il aime bien observer son territoire depuis le sommet d'un rameau o\u00f9 quand le soleil est trop chaud, il prend la position dite de l'ob\u00e9lisque, pointant l'extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de son abdomen vers le ciel. Il mesure environ 35 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00eame si c'est une esp\u00e8ce tr\u00e8s commune, je l'ai peu rencontr\u00e9e en raison de la s\u00e9cheresse, et les rivi\u00e8res que j'ai crois\u00e9es \u00e9taient \u00e0 sec, sauf les plus grandes, notamment une de celles qui alimentent le lac Abaya. J'ai essentiellement rencontr\u00e9 les odonates au bord des lacs...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On note que les femelles ont des taches alaires r\u00e9duites et ne portent pas de taches m\u00e9talliques violac\u00e9es sur le front. Elles ont, elles aussi, des taches noires sur les segments 8 et 9.
La premi\u00e8re photo sur la Weito River le 25\/10\/2018, les 2 autres \u00e0 Turmi, le 28\/10\/2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
