En chemin pour le sud de la France et sur les indications d’un ami odonatophile, je me suis rendu sur le ruisseau de l’Argenti\u00e8re<\/a>, \u00e0 Saint Martin-les-M\u00e8lles. C’est un ruisseau d’un m\u00e8tre de large, en ce moment un foss\u00e9 assez profond, envahi de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation assez haute avec peu d’eau libre, \u00e0 l’ombre partielle d’arbres r\u00e9parties in\u00e9galement des 2 c\u00f4t\u00e9s. Un site tout \u00e0 fait au sud des Deux-S\u00e8vres, la limite nord de sa r\u00e9partition dans l’Ouest de la France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur environ 75 m\u00e8tres j’ai compt\u00e9 25 Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis, matures, jeunes ou \u00e9mergents comme ce m\u00e2le dont les yeux encore couleur noisette, le thorax parcouru de lignes claires, les ailes ambr\u00e9es et la maladresse de sa pose montrent qu’il est certainement \u00ab\u00a0n\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb le jour m\u00eame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je n’ai pas assist\u00e9 aux \u00e9mergences proprement dites mais apparemment la coloration rouge tr\u00e8s fonc\u00e9e de l’abdomen et du thorax appara\u00eet tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cocement.
On note sur la photo ci-dessus des zones claires, blanch\u00e2tres \u00e0 la partie inf\u00e9rieure des segments 8, 9 et 10, et m\u00eame \u00e0 la partie inf\u00e9rieure des cerques (appendices anaux inf\u00e9rieurs); ces zones deviendront rose fuchsia chez les adultes, et constitueront le \u00ab\u00a0catadioptre\u00a0\u00bb que les m\u00e2les savent mettre en \u00e9vidence pour communiquer avec leurs cong\u00e9n\u00e8res.

Ci-dessous ce tr\u00e8s jeune m\u00e2le a encore du mal \u00e0 ma\u00eetriser ses premiers instants de vol, et surtout l’atterrissage qui n’est pas \u00ab\u00a0standard\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
