C’est la premi\u00e8re fois que j’observe Crocothemis erythraea m\u00e2le… en dehors de France, mais ce n’est pas comme on pourrait le croire sa proximit\u00e9 avec l’\u00e9tat voisin d’\u00c9rythr\u00e9e, juste au nord de l’\u00c9thiopie, qui lui a donn\u00e9 son nom d’esp\u00e8ce. Brull\u00e9 a d\u00e9crit cette esp\u00e8ce d’apr\u00e8s un sujet captur\u00e9 dans le P\u00e9loponn\u00e8se grec (ancienne Mor\u00e9e) et son nom d’esp\u00e8ce ne se rapporte qu’\u00e0 sa couleur rouge, du grec erythra\u00eda<\/em> devenu erythraea<\/em> en latin (tout comme le nom de l’Erythr\u00e9e…)
Il a une aire de distribution gigantesque occupant quasiment toute l’Afrique, jusqu’\u00e0 l’est de l’Inde et a connu une expansion remarquable vers le nord colonisant l’Europe centrale, du Sud et de l’Ouest, et particuli\u00e8rement depuis une vingtaine d’ann\u00e9es puisqu’il est maintenant bien implant\u00e9 en Allemagne et en Hollande, et signal\u00e9 occasionnellement en Angleterre (depuis 1995\u202f!) o\u00f9 il s’implantera sans doute…

Il mesure 36 \u00e0 45 mm et se rencontre sur les \u00e9tangs et lacs, parfois des foss\u00e9s et se montre encore moins difficile lors de ses migrations, ce qui explique sa facult\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9tendre son territoire.
Comme mentionn\u00e9 sous les photos, je l’ai rencontr\u00e9 en \u00c9thiopie sur 2 grands lacs, mais aussi dans une zone semi-d\u00e9sertique pr\u00e8s d’une grande flaque, reliquat d’une rivi\u00e8re ass\u00e9ch\u00e9e.
En \u00c9thiopie, on rencontre \u00e9galement Crocothemis sanguinolenta<\/a> de coloration plus terne et plus orang\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
