Franchement je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re les m\u00e2les Aeshna affinis… Ils sont beaucoup plus beaux, ils sont faciles \u00e0 rencontrer dans ma r\u00e9gion, ils se laissent approcher et ne s’envolent pas instantan\u00e9ment \ud83d\ude09
J’ai en effet de tristes et rares rencontres avec les femelles de cette esp\u00e8ce et ce n’est que la 3\u00b0 fois que j’en observe une. Je l’ai vu faire quelques acrobaties puis se poser dans la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation non loin de moi pour consommer sa proie, et j’ai eu exactement 32 secondes pour faire des photos \u00e0 contre jour… d’ou un essai rapide de flash ci-dessous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les femelles Aeshnidae sont notoirement discr\u00e8tes, et dans ma r\u00e9gion celles d’Aeshna affinis semblent vivre \u00e0 l’\u00e9cart du monde (je connais pourtant des sites \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 Aeshna affinis\u00a0\u00bb o\u00f9 les m\u00e2les sont nombreux), alors que les femelles A. mixta, les plus proches par leur habitus sont plus r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement rencontr\u00e9es, notamment en ponte.
Les accouplements observ\u00e9s semblent rarissimes (pourtant d’une dur\u00e9e moyenne de 30 \u00e0 50 minutes), sans doute autant que ceux d’Anax Imperator ou d’Aeshna cyanea.
Quant \u00e0 la ponte ce serait aussi une grande occasion de voir m\u00e2le et femelle en m\u00eame temps puisqu’il sont un des rares Aeshnidae \u00e0 pondre (au moins pour un certain temps) en tandem, le m\u00e2le continuant \u00e0 cramponner la femelle pendant l’oviposition, ceci dans le but d’assurer la fertilisation des \u0153ufs par sa propre semence.
